Egg chasers have their second leg of the play off final at the Majeski stadium tonight (can't spell it despite there being a massive empty stand with it written on).

I've been reading that there's a raucous atmosphere building.

I believe they have an 11 point lead in aggregate and a win would see them into the Premiership.

From what I've heard from my colleague* they've walked the league. In fact I don't think they've even lost a game.

*this same woman has had a ST for LI for 4 years but says she'll cancel if they move to Brentford as it's too far for her to go.

LI pissed the championship...much like RFC once did

However, rules say that they had to play-off with the likes of Ealing or Doncaster and ultimately, Leeds.

An 11 point away leg lead is currently getting tested by the yerkshiremen

LI back in the Prem. Can only be a financially good thing for RFC

Since this post, LI are currently dicking Yorkshire. Would take a massive collapse for LI to not be promoted now.

Did anyone watch it? The main tv camera was in the East Stand. I guess that was done to look like people were there.

Huge congratulations to Irish. A bizarregame with over 100 points scored but theend result was Irish have got back to the big time. Hopefully the support act to our game on Monday.
Decent crowd of just u see 8000 ( no point carping about it being less than we get, it's a different sport, with a different profile and an even more skewed focus on the top division than we have).
The atmosphere was good, especially when a fight involving ( at a rough count) 50 people broke out towards the end. That led to Ben Franks (by some way the most decorated player to appear at the Madesjski this season in any sport) getting his John Terry moment thanks to a red card.
Already looking forward to seeing Sarries, Wasps et al next season but we can now focus in the real biggie....

After 20minutes of that I'm pretty sure he'd be playing it anally.

Officially going. Next season will be the last and then they’re off to Brentford for September 2020. Then perhaps the women can play where they should play.

Be sad for the Rugby fans in Reading, but does seem to have been quite a big disconnect over the last few years. Prob best all round. Personally speaking, they won't be missed. Find Rugby an awful game, one of the only sports I don't like.

Yeah, not too much of a loss tbf.

Reading has three teams of its own (four including Shire Hall), one of which, The Rams (Redingensians as was) is tearing up the National 2 South right now.

Echo the Womans team sentiment

Fully expect Ealing to move in if/when they get promoted to the Premiership. Would need a bigger stadium and the Madjeski is probably the closest that will likely be available.

The Rams are doing brilliantly, incredible achievement if they get to tier 3. Real shame the RFU have just pulled out of this summer's proposed 3G pitch investment at Old Bath Road.

Yeah shame - showing what is possible when a club is well run have well and truly taken over from Reading as the main local club which as my family is closely linked to Reading RFC is sad to see. Reading languishing in the lower reaches of the Southern Counties North League - only 2 relegations from the bottom tier of English Rugby - long gone are the days of being in the 3rd tier - where The Rams are heading.

It’s Sad to see Irish go and I fear for their future.
The one eyed RFC fans who ranted on about the pitch have been proved well and truely wrong as since the pitch was relaid there has been absolutely no issues.
I do agree that this gives an opportunity to get the women’s team playing at the Madejski. At the moment they really don’t feel a full part of the club, which they should be.
