Madejski

That is some of the clunkiest prose I have ever had the misfortune to have put in front of my eyes.
So much garden-pathing It is literally unreadable.

With comments like that, I hope Reading4eva has got thick skin. I found it perfectly readable, concise and to the point. Keep it up mate.
Couldn't care less what they call the stadium, as long as it's nothing to do with rugby or betting.

:?: although it is evident here that it is the "done thing" to slaughter certain posters, I can see nothing much wrong with that tbf, have read plenty worse articles written by so-called professional Guardian journalists.

As for the actual thread question, a bit like the Broad Street Mall is still called The Butts and John Lewis Reading is still called Heelas and despite Union Street not being a particularly Smelly Alley anymore, Eva is right, it will still be referred to as the Madejski

Sell up. It's not like it's a ground steeped in history. Would any Reading fan really give a oxf*rd?

Interesting that our wage bill was £33.3 million in the last set of accounts. So £700k or even £3 million isn't even close.
I suspect the OP may have meant non football staff costs but even then I'm not convinced it would cover that.
It's a bit irrelevant though, 700k a year is 700k ! Perhaps a more meaningful comparison would be that it would 2000 season tickets.
I agree with the point that selling the naming rights would be no big deal. We don't have an iconic ground like St James's Park and we'd all refer to the ground as the Madejski.
I also think we should take a little care and not simply plaster the ground with the name of a payday lender or other dodgy company.
I'd favour retaining the ground name as it is officially but selling the rights to have another name linked. So we could have the Rolls Royce Madejski Stadium or the Pokemon Madejski, if we could get firms of that quality interested.
