Short memories

by windermereROYAL » 23 Feb 2018 12:30

Why are our club such pussies?
We travel to Leeds, they charge a whopping £39, they have a 4.000 allocation and guess what ? 20 piddling quid. fcuking joke.
Anyone got someone I can email to voice my displeasure?

I dunno rather think twenty is plenty.

If you were prepared to pay £39, fair play to you, but many would've been put off at that price.

i fully appreciate what our club is doing which other clubs have followed, and i applaud them for that, however is if a club ignores it so blantantly as Leeds then why should their fans be rewarded when the return fixture comes around? i say charge them £30 at least.

Why punish the fans when its the club that makes the decision?

The thing with away games is the ticket price makes up such a small amount of the total cost. When you're spending £100+ on train tickets, food, drinks, maybe even accommodation - £19 extra for the ticket is actually fairly minimal.

It’s not about rewarding their fans though is it? It’s proving that we are a club that is for the reduction of ticket prices and are looking out for all fans, no matter who they support. Also, don’t forget that Leeds fans themselves will be changed that much for HOME games and because they are a big club they have plenty of people who will be willing to pay that.

I do think Championship clubs charging more than Premier League clubs is a bit outrageous though.

It smacks a bit of football clubs taking advantage of the loyalty of fans, the biggest middle finger would be to go watch the nearest Premier League game instead, cheaper ticket and what should be a higher quality game.

In any other industry if you could get better quality for cheaper you would jump at the chance, of course football isn't as simple.

Seems a matter of finances to me .. say we took 1000 supporters to Leeds, thats £39,000 .. charging £20 for the return fixture for 4000 Leeds fans amounts to £80,000 ..

The club actually behaves pretty well with this stuff. You can't really complain about ticket prices at the Mad Stad.

We can't. And don't. Think you are missing the original point.

The OP was complaining they are too low for certain away fans.

Seems you really can't please all the people all the time.

The OP is correct. Either both sides agree or not at all. If Leeds don't want to reciprocate on the old twenty's plenty, then they should get charged full whack by us. This is so easy to understand.

Yes it is. If it's shit and overpriced, stop going.

Am I right in thinking that the club can't charge more for away tickets than they do for equivalent home tickets?

I think setting a positive example is the right course of action but equally if demanding reciprocation benefited our fans then I'd support that too.
