Slough Town on 14 July

Note that the club fly out to Austria on 15th July so whether that’ll impact the level of squad that takes to the field v Slough remains to be seen.

From the OS

Five pre-season friendly fixtures have been arranged for our Under-23 side as they build their preparations for the 2018/19 campaign.

Three of the fixtures are set to take place behind closed doors at our Hogwood Park training ground, while the other two will see our boys make journeys either direction along the M4.

The fixture programme is as follows…

Bath City FC (A)
Saturday 7th July, 3pm
Twerton Park

Wealdstone (H)
Tuesday 10th July, 6pm
Hogwood Park (behind closed doors)

Slough Town (A)
Saturday 14th July, 3pm
Arbour Park

Cheltenham Town (H)
Tuesday 17th July, 1pm
Hogwood Park (behind closed doors)

Swansea City U23 (H)
Saturday 4th August, 2pm
Hogwood Park (behind closed doors)

Well at least that one is half decent. Something just a bit more appealing about Palace rather than some of the recent others.

won't be Aldershot - especially after the last time we were there for friendly.

Reading Football Club are set to face the Sky Bet Championship Play-Off winners Fulham at Aldershot Town’s EBB Stadium on Saturday 14th July, kick-off 1.30pm – the final fixture to be announced in the Royals’ UK-based pre-season preparation schedule ahead of the start of the 2018-19 season.

Would imagine it's to allow the pitch the fullest amount of time to revover over the summer. Not going to get a massive crowd either. 4000 at Aldershot better than 4000 at the Madjeski.

Aldershot genuinely hate us and I think the feeling is pretty mutual. I know it's a friendly and not even against them, but it's just weird to choose that club to host.

Also sh1tty that it's against Fulham too. I think even if it was free entry I wouldn't go to it. I think I'll go to Slough instead

Slough will be a much better ground to visit on the 14th rather than watch us play Fulham at a neutral ground

Maybe Rotherham & Norwich behind closed doors in Austria? Both are out there whilst we are.

Well our reserves used to play at Aldershot not long ago but it's more the Fulham oppo that I'm bemused about. Oh well, I'll head to Slough with the rest anyway - good facilities there and will be a decent day out
