Stranded Trip to Eastleigh confirmed for June 30th.

Nice seaside trip that and good to see the club are announcing them nice and early. Last summer's pre season was a complete shambles!

Ye that lovely coastal town of...erm...Eastleigh.

Is your head in the sand?

It is about 20 minutes from the South Coast. Sorry for not specifying it wasn't bang on the beach. You could go to the football and round it all off with a nice trip to Hayling Island in late afternoon.

No I wouldn't visit somewhere like that or any UK beach. The people there are normally horrendous.

Not been announced either way but seems to being pushed as a 1st Team game. They only return to training on the 25th, so wouldn't be surprised if it sees two teams get 45mins each.

that early its not going to be any more that a training session really.

but its good to see we have plans for games in place already. Last pre-seasons shambles appeared to have a pretty big impact on us this year

I remember moaning about the shambles pre-season last summer when we arranged no friendlies with UK teams and played 3 games. Hope we get 4 or 5 friendlies arranged before the play-off final in 2 weeks.

Hope we can get a couple of really local ones in there. Wycombe is always good and a game against Maidenhead would go down well.

What is this weird obsession we seem to have with behind closed doors/training ground friendlies?

Added cost of running an open stadium during preseason? Not only for us, but for the team(s) we are playing against.

Ah, that explains why no other teams play friendlies against teams at their stadiums when they go on tour.

Also it maybe due to not knowing what division Reading would be in therefore impacting where any tour would be and therefore also not being able to set the opposition until quite late. BBC Berks still provided coverage of the games that were behind closed doors last summer so hopefully they might pick one of them up this summer.

Agree it’s a bit of poor show from the club though.

Wonder what the “glamour” home friendly will be on 28th July? Bournemouth/Brighton or nothing?

Or maybe it’s becuase they don’t want our mong fan base, who obsess and question the club over every tiny thing, bothering them on their pre season tour.

Do you really think our fans are unique in their questioning of their club's actions?

We don't seem to have played a foreign club at their ground for about 10 years now. It seems to be some kind of club policy.
