Meanwhile, back on the topic of the thread...
There's some suggestion that Southgate may try a different formation this evening. The implication being that it'll be a flat back 4 with 3 upfront (Rashford, Kane and Sterling).
I've seen a few suggestions that that will also mean a midfield 3 of Dier, Henderson and Barkley. I'm not sure that works for me. I've never been a massive fan of Dier in midfield, especially alongside Henderson, so I'd probably rather see Winks alongside Henderson and Barkley.
What will be interesting is seeing if Sterling can reproduce form a little closer to that with his club if played a more similar position. It would also be nice to see a more involved and threatening performance from Kane too. One that is a bit more befitting of his excellent scoring record.
