#1 on the hit parade

by Silver Fox » 03 Jul 2018 12:14

Now that it's become quite clear that Football is coming home which of the old classics should the social media campaigns aim to force to the top of the pops on July 13th, which would a great boost for our lads ahead of their big game with Brazil

Obviously we could just fill the top 5, Ed Sheeran style, it's what football would have wanted, before it came home

Silver Fox Now is the time

As Spurs are now about to win the World Cup (Trippier,Alli, Kane plus Dier and Rose as back-up) as West Ham did in 1966 how about the Hoddle/Waddle twaddle song?

It’s got to be World In Motion. I’ve been listening to it about 15 times a day for the past 3 weeks and it still hasn’t got boring. In many many ways, it’s the perfect song.

I’ll be doing my rounds shortly, with it blaring out of my car windows as I drive aimlessly around Reading spreading belief and and the bulldog spirit.

Also, every interview I’ve heard from an England player they’ve talked about how they want to “Express them self” on the pitch, so I’m pretty sure they’ve been listening to it too.

wot, no Back Home (for us oldies)?

In the absence of that classic, I voted Vindaloo

I had a 1996 football CD on it with Eat My Goal 3 Lions etc. It also had a 1996 version of World In Motion on it too. I damned if I can find it online and I can’t be arsed to go into the attic to root through my CDs, but a different version wouldn’t hurt right now.

There were a few good remixes of World in Motion knocking around, I had a white label 12" with loads more samples from '66 commentary which was pretty neat, might find it and give it a spin later

Anyone know what Baddiel and Skinner would get out of the recent success of the song? Is it a just a percentage from each download?
