Whereas that is 5/6 years too late, I am surprised he is going out off his own back.

The damage he has done to ArsenaLOL over the last few years will be felt for years to come.

It'll seem weird. Like when Fergie wasn't the United manager any more.

New Arsenal boss will be only their third permanent manager in 32 years, and, quite ridiculously, only their sixth since 1966. Four of those managers took charge for at least 400 games.

The notion that Wenger has 'damaged' Arsenal is utterly ridiculous.

Sanguine New Arsenal boss will be only their third permanent manager in 32 years

Graham, Rioch & Wenger have all been permanent managers there in the past 23 years

Not to detract from the point of them having few managers

Yep, Arsenal Fan TV tweeting about how it's a sad day. They were the ringleaders in trying to get the bloke sacked.

*Fourth. I didn't count the new boss, whoever that may be. Graham became manager in 1986.

Fwiw,

Bertie Mee 1966 (539 games)
Arsene Wenger 1996 (1,227)

The club isn't damaged. They just don't have the quality in the squad to keep up with the rest of the top 6, and haven't bothered investing the shit loads of cash they've got in the right areas, so they've been left behind for the last few seasons (and yet still managed 3 FA Cups).

Mental. Meanwhile, Leeds have had 9 managers since 2014

Wenger the third manager this season (Hughes*, Pellegrino) whose departure is announced after a league defeat to Newcastle.

Sam 'how well is he doing?' Allardyce shifting nervously in his seat.

*okay, Hughes went a few days later after losing in the FA Cup to Coventry.

You can still be sad something is over, even if you wanted it that way.

Wenger is a legend for the club, regardless of what's happened over the last few years, and his impact on both Arsenal and English football is huge (despite his many faults).

It always amazes me that he's only won 3 titles though.

That's nothing, Stam apparently invented the false 3 position last season.

Missed this.

He was a child prodigy of Italian football and everything. No idea how this hasn't worked out.
