Leeds served with winding up petition over £150,000 in solicitors fees dating from the Ken Bates era. Good old Bates, the gift that keeps on giving.

Leeds United on Sky

by MrSwickle » 29 Aug 2015 12:23

I am a little bemused as to why Leeds United games have featured on Sky sports almost every week since the season began, hardly a fair spread of games/teams from across the league.

Any thoughts why this could be?

Because they are a MASSIVE club and have only been on loan to the Football League for the past 12 years.

Probably because they've got lots of fans and thus the viewing figures justify more frequent airings of their games?

Same reason you get nothing but Liverpool, ManU, Chelsea, Arsenal and ManC games from the PL, obviously that's all people want to watch from these leagues

There was also a thread on this last season, so nothing new.

Was it on here that someone posted an average viewers per televised fixture of each team? I seem to remember we were about third on the list, but yet only featured once(?) last season on Sky.

"I fear for the club. The future of the club is at stake"

Really? Because a few less fans are attending games moved to be shown on TV? I doubt it.

Nice approach to protest by stopping your own fans going to away games and depriving other clubs of income.
He could always decline to accept any to money, meaning they would never be televised.

But in fact he does have a point that tv screws the fans disproportionally, but the club's take the money and can hardly complain that they then are dictated to by tv

Bit of a joke this FPP test isn't it? Shouldn't the FL be banning him completely by now...?
