One man has been arrested on suspicion of decapitating a referee at an amateur football match in Brazil.

After being given a red card a player refused to leave the field and began insulting and threatening the referee. The incident esculated and the referee, believed to have been carrying a knife, stabbed the player several times.

Fans ran onto the field and stoned the referee to death before supposedly cutting him into quarters and putting his head on a spike in the centre circle

Have been living over here for a little while and have to say that this has got surprisingly little attention n the local press.
