Stranded
double d Even more interesting is what is going on in the Conference, where feasibly none of the teams in the bottom 4 relegation places could actually get releg8d at the end of the season. Macclesfield (top of the league when I last checked), Chester and Hartlepool are seemingly on a financial knife edge.

Apparently if Sutton, Bromley or Maidstone finish in the promotion places and get promoted, they will actually get relegated because the FA have told them they cannot have the 3g pitch. The alternitive is to spend about 300k ripping it up which they won't have.

Not to mention they are also having a 5 team play off system this season.

Isn't it the Football League that have an issue with 3G? The FA allow them in the FA Cup and they have no jurisdicton over League 2 as it is a Football League competition.

Sorry yes it is.

Not quite Ups and Downs but I had a massive WTF moment last night when SSN said there was only 12 games left in the PL season, it's literally only just February FFS! How did this happen?

Because there are 38 games in the season and we have already played 26 of them

Don't really know where to put this as it's not ups or downs, but Burnley's form is:

DLDDLLLLDDL

And yet they are still 7th. The Premier League outside of the top six really is amazingly inconsistent.

Southampton are in a bit of bother - 11 games to go, but only four at home, and I think their fate might be sealed in March, where they play Stoke (h), Newcastle (a), Swansea (a), West Ham (a). All six pointers, and after that they have Arsenal, Chelsea and City in their last six games.

They're still 5/1 to go down, which looks very generous.

Sunderland - 5 points from safety with 8 games left having won only 5 games this season. Some north east journo said on the radio earlier that there are whispering of Sunderland going into administration if they are relegated. £130M in debt apparently.

Two ways of looking at the mackems

1. They have brought in a decent manager who has failed....chopping and changing managers didn't work (hello)
or
2. Only 5 points from safety, they still have the potential to play themselves out of this.

Darron Gibson crashing drunkenly into 4 parked cars at lunchtime today before the match may not have helped things

Accrington at home to Exeter next weekend. Exeter are the only team outside the automatic promotion places left that can catch them. A win for Accrington and they are up, Big Mac's all round I guess.

Spare a thought for Brechin City who have managed just 4 points from 4 home draws in their 32 games in Scottish division 2/Championship or whatever it’s called these days.
