Impressive record. Their last football league win was 31 December 2011 at home to Port Vale (and that was their first win in eight).

LLLLLLLLDDDDDLLDLLLDLLLLLLDDLLLLDDLL is their complete record since. 36 games, 11 draws and 25 defeats. Scored 27, conceded 66. Just 2 clean sheets, and have failed to score 17 times.

Out of interest what is the British record for the number of successive winless Premier/Football League games played a club in the same season? I'm presuming it's most of Derby County's above record but know others have run close like Cambridge in the mid 1980s

If you were a fan of Macclesfield though, would not some part of you be disappointed when that record came to an end?

For what it's worth, Macclesfield can equal Sunderland's recent record for home games without a win (17) if they don't beat Carlisle at the weekend.

On the record within one season, I'd be surprised if anyone touched Derby's 32. And that run is still going for the top flight, they'll extend their record for 'top flight games without a win' for every game they don't win, if and when they get promoted again.

Just managed to do some checks and Derby's 32 game run just beats Cambridge's 31 game run without a league win in 1983/84. Cambridge had real bad time of it in the mid 80s as the following season saw them succesfully complete a 23 game winless run in the league. They were so bad in that run that they even lost 2-0 at home to Reading.

Kulshaw72RFC I have a family member who works at Charlton as a fitness coach. No idea about Forest Green though but they seen to be an up and coming team like Salford.

Funnily enough we had an EX nobber who's family member worked at Charlton and was pictured on social media with some weird photo illusion, making him look different. :?

They really were abysmal that year weren't they.

Derby's 20 goals scored that season is also the second lowest ever (Loughborough, 18).

Perhaps what is most remarkable about Macclesfield's run is that they haven't been that awful. As above, they have 'only' conceded 66 goals in those 36 games. Incredibly, they've only lost by 3 goals or more twice. 13 of those 25 defeats have been by a single goal. And yet they haven't come 'close' to winning. Newport's 97th minute equaliser this month is the only time they have conceded an equaliser in the last 10 minutes of a game.

It's a bizarre record.

Reading about that season Derby had now.

They got relegated in March! Even we didn't get promoted till after that and we had one of the leagues best ever teams and a British record.

An incomprehensible 11 points And 1 win. AMAZINGLY that isn't even the worst of modern times. Hyde Fc got 10 points in the 2013/14 National League.

They spent 2 games outside the bottom 3 all season. The first 2.

Paddy Power paid out on them to be relegated after 6 games

They were so bad we even beat them 4-0!!!

The Hyde FC season of shite was turned into something quite funny by their fans and media operation.

I remember watching Soccer Saturday when they won finally.

Selling went utterly mental.

Loughborough just about nick it from Derby. Their goalscoring rate was 0.529 goals per game compared to Derby's 0.526.

Good thing Leeds were awarded the title at the start of September, isn't it?

They do the same thing every single year

Sky get a massive hard on for them, they win every game for 6/8 games, then stop winning, manager gets sacked and they end up mid table.

Kulshaw72RFC Macclesfield equal the British League record of 36 games in the league without a win matching Derbys record from their abject 07-08 season. They haven't won a league game since 2012.

You know what the old saying is?

If you don't succeed and win for the first 36 times, it's always the 37th time lucky.

Worst thing is they didn't even get the record.

I wonder if they are more happy they finally won or more annoyed they don't have the record and won next week?

As expected, Hirst has gone from Ipswich.

Took a massive gamble, safe to say it did not pay off for him, Ipswich and Shrewsbury.

Should have kept MM.

Disgraceful actions for Khmer rouge punching the equaliser for Leeds in on Saturday. Sky's commentators obviously couldn't call him out on it* as he was playing for their works team suggesting that Leeds had got a bit of luck, no they didn't they straight up cheated with full intent. I don't know if that rule came in after all where people caught diving on video would get a 3 match ban but it really should apply in this case too

*well done Ian Holloway for calling Roofe out on the highlights show

Championship was packed with some delights this weekend, with Roofe ( ), a classic own goal in Boro Derby and then the all time classic, if a bit less common nowadays, the outfield player in goal.

also Reading Swansea happened.
