Not my usual type of bet but did a treble last night on these hopeless teams to lose:
Andorra
Luxembourg
Thailand
£100 produced a return of £216.
I did end up backing the draw for £10 in the Luxembourg game when they were 3-2 down with 5 minutes to play on the basis that they had (amazingly for them)somehow managed to score 2 so they could possibly get a third.

The best price of those was Latvia at Andorra at 2/5 where I thought (with Andorra's record) should have been nearer 1/5.
It struck me as one of those "too good to be true" bets but we all know that it doesn't always work out.

Feel a bit sorry for LUX. They equalised in the 91st min, only for Bulgaria to get the winner in the 92nd.

Another good night of betting. Tonight I backed the sides that play in black and white. From the National League North I backed Darlington to win or draw with Stockport County (remember them? I was at Stockport that midweek night when we took a 1-1 draw to take a huge step towards promotion under Mark McGhee.) That earned me a £12 profit.

Then from Brazil's Serie A, I backed Botafogo in their clash with Fluminense. That was for another £12 profit. I cashed out early on that one to secure £11.10.

My position now stands at:

Bet365: £180
Betfair: £229

Both bets were to lay off Stockport and Fluminense. So I would win with wins or draws for my teams in black and white.

I wish we could hof the last 40-odd pages. It's brilliant.

I may back a football team playing who have the letter V in their name
Today.

I think all teams in Red and White stripes will win today, but ONLY if they a 4-3-3 formation and a goalkeeper who has a name beginning with J.

I've heard teams who play in green are in good form.

After a blockbuster start to my betting campaign this season, I am sure you will all be delighted to know that I am well on track to hitting my £1000 target on each account by the end of the season. My Bet365 account is up 80% in the first month of the football season and my Betfair account is up 129%. I am sure that you will all agree that these are truly outstanding figures and confirm my growing competence in the betting markets.

I need to increase my accounts by 20% per month in order to get to my goals. This is where my Betfair account should be month by month as we cruise through the football season:

Current Balance: £229
by end of September: £274
by end of October: £329
by end of November: £395
by end of December: £474
by end of January: £569
by end of February: £683
by end of March: £820
by end of April: £984
by end of May: £1181

Bet365 needs to rise by 22% per month from this point in order for me to get to my target before the end of the season. This is where I need to be each month.

Current Balance: £180
by end of September: £219
by end of October: £267
by end of November: £326
by end of December: £398
by end of January: £486
by end of February: £593
by end of March: £724
by end of April: £883
by end of May: £1077

I only need to add £45 to my Betfair account this month to remain on course. My Bet365 needs £39 added in order to stay on track. Any advice on staking amounts and risk management issues will be gratefully received at this stage. Should I be increasing my stake sizes at this point, or should I in fact be reducing them as I only need £45 this month in each account to be on the right track? Should I be increasing my stakes as my account size increases? What about my betting frequency? What number of bets should I place this month to stay on the course? I'm trying to stick to a plan and a system to ensure that I don't go off on a tangent and make human errors. The more I can stick to a system, the more likely I will be to hit targets. I'm just not completely sure what my system should be. But, it's clear that I am well on course at the moment so should remain calm and make good selections.

Bullshit. You aren't trying to stick to a plan. You're totally obsessed with this and betting if, when and how you see fit. And that's fine. But don't pretend you have a plan, you can't even manage to bet only a certain % of your bankroll.

Good luck though!

Btw it's considered poor etiquette to 'after-time', that is post about your bets once you have won. How about posting them before the event?

So are you telling me to back Celtic in Saturday's old firm derby? That sounds like a great shout.
How should I bet on the game? Do I back Celtic on bet365 at 1.57 or do I lay Rangers off on betfair at 6?
I think Leigh Griffiths will miss this game though. How will that affect Celtic? How important is he? They still have Sinclair I suppose. It might be best to lay Rangers.

I'm not making this stuff up. This is a serious challenge. The bets are real. There isn't always the time to talk about bets before the event. When you're betting in a serious manner as I am, you have to take opportunities as they arise and concentrate on games and be ready to cash out of them when the game starts running away from you as I did on Czech Republic / Northern Ireland and Botafogo / Fluminense. I am watching and analysing the games. This is serious stuff. I can't be posting on HNA while I am focussed on a match. I need to be ready to execute bets or cash out if the game doesn't go the way I was expecting.
