Nimes back in the French top division for the first time in 25 years. They kicked off the season with an amazing 4-3 away win at Angers having been 3-2 down and a down to 10 men with 5 minutes left to play. Then last weekend they faced their bitter rivals Marseille and manaed a 3-1 home win over them.

In Italy, Sassuolo beat Inter meaning they have now won 7 of the last 8 matches against them. Inter are widely tipped to be the most likely team to grab 2nd place this season pushing Juve for top spot. Serie B this season has 19 teams instead of 22 due to 3 clubs going bust this summer, including Bari who were in the play off just a few weeks ago.

Chievo under investigation for inflating transfer fees of young players by up to €64M. It was already decides they would not face a points penalty in the summer but they are up in front of a judge next month for the financial fiddling aspect

Reading about Alessandro Lucarelli, former Parma captain who retired at the end of last season after Parma won promotion to Serie A. What is remarkable about his story is that he was the only member of the playing staff to stay with the club when it was declared bankrupt in 2014, and demoted to Serie D. He was already captain then, and took it upon himself to help as much as he could to put the club together again, including day-to-day operational work, ensuring back office staff were paid, and representing the club in court. Incredible. Parma retired his no.6 jersey with him when he hung up his boots in May after 350 games for the club across all four divisions.

Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) have stated that it is suspended until 9 October. Italian FA have since stated that they are instructing Serie B to carry on as normal as 'it is what millions of fans want'

Le Parisien run a story about how there were irregularities when finding PSG clear over FFP. Now it's announced that a reporting judge will be appointed to investigate the original investigation for errors.

From what I read I think they have to make some kind of statement within 10 days as to whether they do consider there to officially have been irregularities and if so they re open the case and start it again. UEFA say that any punishment found will now only come into effect from next summer (presumably to give them time to do a full investigation again)

UEFA open a new FFP investigation into PSG's transfer dealings and also investigate the previous investigation which cleared them of wrong doing
