Winston Biscuit Also heard a journalist detailing Real Madrid's history of discrediting their big name players and attacking their character as part of a build up to offloading them and potentially making a loss on transfer fee. They explained how this has worked in the past because apparently it matches exactly what has just started being done to Gareth Bale and is all about damage limitation from fans.

Very regular stories now being run in Marca about Bale not being one of the lads, his English not being good enough, him turning down team dinners as he wants early nights and one story about him watching golf on his iPad on the team coach (even though others were doing the same)

I know he's Welsh, but I've generally found his English to be acceptable.

Was listening to a podcast earlier and they talked about Luka Jovic of Frankfurt. He is on loan there from Benfica with an option to buy for just €6M. He is 21 years old and currently the top scorer in the Bundesliga. Benfica have been seeking legal action trying to get that purchase figure removed while Frankfurt are talking to clubs about selling him on the day after he joins them officially for 10 times what they will pay

lol

Ben Wilmot in the starting XI for Udinese against Juventus tonight.

Juve 4-0 up right now and going 19 (nineteen) points clear at the top

Bayern back on top here in Germany.

2 weeks ago they were 3 points adrift and 12 goals worse than Dortmund.

A Dortund defeat at Augsburg and Bayern beating Mönchengldbach 5-1 away and Wolfsburg 6-0 at home means they lead the way on GD.

Der Klassiker on 6th April is likely to decide the title.

Listened to a European football podcast early this morning and they talked about the difference in refereeing and implementing of laws. One that I liked was how different countries may be more strict or relaxed about swearing at refs but in Italy they have blasphemy laws and if you are heard using the lords name in vain you get an automatic yellow card.

Race for the European places looking very interesting in Seria A with so many teams still in with a shout. 9th placed Torino are only 3 points away from a Europa League spot and 6 points away from a Champions League spot

Frankfurt win again yesterday and move into the Champions League places. Season built on a frankly excellent front 3 - who will all possibly be poached next year if they don't make the CL places.

In the title race, Dortmund open up a 2 point gap again as Bayern drop 2 points at Freiburg.

Massive Klassiker on Saturday evening now.

Messi now has 40+ club goals in each of his last 11 seasons.

Pablo Alcacer scored a late brace to take Dortmund two points clear - he now has 16 league goals (second only to Lewandowski) depsite only starting 7 games, scoring a goal every 60 minutes. Indeed if you take out those starts, he has 12 league goals as a sub in just 402 minutes on the pitch, a goal every 34 minutes.

I think jovic is on loan from benfica but has a stupidly low buy out price (less then 20 mill iirc) and they are panicking now

He was a bargain. €200k for a two-year loan from Benfica with a €7m option to buy at the end of those two years. Strong rumours Eintracht Frankfurt will seek to immediately capitalise on Jovic by selling him on for c. €50m.

Top bit of scouting - he had 17 goals in 62 career league games prior to his move, but hasn't looked back since moving to the Bundesliga.

Serie B:

9 games left for all apart from Palermo who have 10 left and Verona who have 8 left

54 Brescia
51 Lecce
-------------------
50 Palermo
48 Verona
47 Benevento
45 Pescara
44 Perugia
43 Spezia
---------------------
42 Cittadella

Top 2 go up automatically. 3rd place goes up automatically if there is a 15 point gap between them and 4th place. Play off are for between 2 to 6 teams depending on how many have finished within 14 points

A quick glance at the Segunda Division and the results look like they are all over the place. Only 2 teams in the top 9 have won more than 2 of their last 5 matches. Grenada in 2nd have won just 4 of their last 10. 2 teams in the top 11 won their last match.

Paris FC currently third in Ligue 2, and nearing promotion to Ligue 1 for the first time in 40 years, just 10 years after they were relegated to the French equivalent of League Two.
