Ligue 1 - PSG lead by 11.
Jupiler League - Club Brugge lead by 11.
La Liga - Barcelona lead by 9.
Bundesliga - Bayern lead by 18.
Premier League - Man City lead by 13.
Scottish Premier League - Celtic lead by 8.

At least we've got a two horse race for excitement in Serie A, although Napoli are 13 points clear in 2nd, of Lazio.
Portugal is a three-horse race - but it's between the usuals of Sporting, Porto and Benfica, who have lost only twice between them this season.

Where else is there some excitement to be had?

Ligue 2 - Stade Reims lead by 9 (with a game in hand).
Scottish Championship - St Mirren lead by 14.
Segunda Division - Huesca lead by 8.
Russian Premier League - Lokomotiv Moscow lead by 8.
Eredivisie - PSV lead by 7.
Swiss Super League - Young Boys and Basel are 15 points clear of 3rd.

Serie B and Bundesliga 2 are at least close.

And the Conference looks exciting, just 7 points between Wrexham on top, and Flyde in 9th.

Will be interesting* how many of these don't go on to win their leagues.

Only recently learned about China's Under 20 national team invited to play in the 4th division of Germany.

The division only had 19 teams so the German FA invited the Chinese team to join for a season. No points would be earned by playing against them but each team were expected to play their strongest XI and the German FA paid each team €15,000 to play.

30 minutes into the first game of the season and the Chinese left the pitch in protest at Tibet flags being waved in the crowd. They have not played since.

Serie B

Palermo blew the chance to go joint top after leading for most of the game then getting a player sent off and letting in 2 late goals at home to relegation threatened Foggia.

Due to the play offs being 3-8th place I reckon the team right now in 16th who are 2 places outside the relegation spots are in with a chance of promotion

mentz, but keeps it entertaining I guess, no dead rubbers*

The 3 Serie C divisions have play off places down to 11th position, and with 4 relegation play off spots there are only 7 points between a relegation place and play off

Must admit that after Porto's capitulation last night, that difficulty factor actually looks generous.

I dont think this has ever happened before, but Ajax reserve team are top of their league by 3 points with a game in hand. If they win, they obviously won't be able to go up so I assume the 2nd place team will as champions.

Dutch B teams only went into the league 5 years ago. Correct they cannot get promoted to the top division. Teams also often don't get relegated down to 3rd division as teams winning 3rd division can opt not to get promoted.

I have read that below the top division it's a real shambles and they get very low attendances

Bizarrely enough, from reading it online, it looks like the 3rd division splits into a Saturday and Sunday league with 18 tams in each one, and goes up until a 37 division league at the bottom. Mental.

Barca draw their 4th match in a row in all comps last night, Atletico Madrid have won the last 7 and brought down the gap between the top 2 down to 5 points.

Atletico travel to Barca at the weekend. Spanish press have been widely reporting that a deal to take Griezmann to Barca this summer is already in place, which adds another nice side story to the match.

Bit self-indulgent but I thought I'd take a monthly update on the lack of tension in European leagues.

Sanguine Ligue 1 - PSG lead by 11 (now 14).
Ligue 2 - Stade Reims lead by 9 (now 11).
Jupiler League - Club Brugge lead by 11 (now 12).
La Liga - Barcelona lead by 9 (now 8).
Bundesliga - Bayern lead by 18 (now 20).
Premier League - Man City lead by 13 (now 18 - United with a game in hand).
Scottish Premier League - Celtic lead by 8 (now 6 - Celtic with a game in hand).
Scottish Championship - St Mirren lead by 14 (now 8 ).
Segunda Division - Huesca lead by 8 (now 5).
Russian Premier League - Lokomotiv Moscow lead by 8 (now 7).
Eredivisie - PSV lead by 7 (now 10).
Swiss Super League - Young Boys and Basel are 15 points clear of 3rd (Young Boys now lead by 14)

Serie A remains the place to go for a tight race, Napoli currently a point ahead of Juventus, who have a game in hand. Just 6 points between the top four in Serie B, and Fortuna and Nurnberg have pulled cleared in Bundesliga 2.

Conference is starting to spread a little - Macclesfield are 5 points clear, but only 8 points ahead of Wrexham, in 6th.

Juve V Napoli on the 22nd April is going to be a massive game. Incredible really that the top 2 have only dropped 22pts between them.

Could end up with a situation whereby Napoli finish 2nd whilst only dropping 14pts all season.
