Steve "show me the money" Bruce

So then, I'm sure this has nothing to do with the money, or the higher profile. I suppose it's no surprise after his Palace dealings a few years back.

Good old Mr Loyalty

I'd feel sorry for Wigan if he hadn't walked out on them once before.

Hardly the big name Niall Quinn hinted at.

Interesting to see how the Mackems take to Steve "life-long Newcastle supporter" Bruce. Wonder if he'll borrow one of Lee Clarke's T-shirts.

Bruce "But I'm very, very pleased with what's happened with us (Wigan) and I'm quite pleased with what's happening in the future, so we'll see what develops."

So he has a time machine too. The cheating wonky nosed bastard!

I don't really see the problem here. Wigan are going backwards, selling all their best players (Heskey went in January, Valencia will leave this summer) while at Sunderland he'll have a good budget to try and help them progress, bit of a no-brainer really.

If I were Bruce I'd hold out for the next chance to take over at Newcastle.

It can't be far off, and he's a decent manager who you'd think would relish the chance of putting things right at St James.

January might be a bit early, especially to take over at a level generally below where he manages, to try and take a mid-table team up in half a season.

I'd be pissed off if i were a Sunderland fan..........

They were promised a "big name manager" - so they get an ex-Birmingham and Wigan manager who's won nothing of note as a manager :?

Wigan wanted £5 million in compensation for him and his assistant Black. No surprise really, I expect Bruce to go on strike within the next 24 hours like he did at Palace

Don't forget that Steve Bruce played a key role for Gillingham when they defeated Sunderland in the play-offs which caused Sunderland's relegation to Division 3 in 1987. The Mackems still remember that!

If I was a football chairman, I would think long and hard about employing the man. His loyalty is one huge :?: and quite frankly, can he be trusted? By the sounds of things, well BBCR5, he will be appointed Blunderland manager in the morning.
