£75m for a player that Jake Cooper kept in his pocket

75 million for one of the finest young strikers the premier league has ever had.
- 104 goals in 184 starts
- Evertons record premier league goalscorer despite just 4 seasons at the club
- 5th on the list of all time club goals before the age of 23
- 1 of 4 players to score 80 premier league goals before the age of 24
- Second on the list of premier league goals since 2012
He's well befitting the fee.

I think that's getting carried away a little with the stats.

I'm happy to be proved wrong on this but it seems goals are a lot easier to come by these last three or four seasons as defending seems to be a dying art form so I'm not sure he's one of the finest young strikers the league has ever had. Don't get me wrong, he's certainly effective, yes, and a very good player to boot, but I'm just not totally convinced by him.

As for this being good for Rashford, I can't see this being a very helpful signing for his development at all. Mourinho will surely stick to one up top and Rashford, as a pacey centre forward who stretches teams who runs at and behind them will be in direct competition for a place with a player the manager has just spent £75m on. I can't see him getting a great of a chance to play through the middle (he may well get shunted out wide again).

I understand the sentiment. I was not convinced by Kane till last season. I honestly thought he was a lucky buck in front of a talented team but I'm happy to admit I was wrong.
As was wisely pointed out my a mailer on football365 the baseball analogy of "if you have 2 first batsmen, both get on first base one in good form and one in bad form, you should choose the one who gets on in bad form as if they can produce the goods while playing poorly, imagine what they can do while playing well.
Lukaku seems to be a marmite player. I for one love him and there are much more stats that show his quality if I bother looking it up.

Sorry, I keep seeing that name and keep thinking of Anthony Rougier.

No need to apologise. I hope Rudiger turns out to be just as good as Rougier. He looked good in the Confed cup. Will give us a bit more pace at the back.

€5M euro per season loan fee with an option (not an obligation, interestingly) to buy him for €35.2M at the end of the 2 years. BM to pay full €6M per year wages while he is there.

Really r8 him, if given a better first team chance there than he has had at RM I reckon we could easily see him as one of the very best in europe.
