Preview of 'local' NL for ....
Saturday 22nd AprilNAT
North Ferriby United v Aldershot Town
Woking v York City -
a win for the Cards would probably see them safe - they go to D&R for their final fixture.NATN
Harrogate Town v
Brackley TownNATS
Chelmsford City Vs Bath City
Concord Rangers v Gosport Borough
Dartford v Bishops Stortford
Maidenhead United v Ebbsfleet United
Oxford City v Margate
St Albans City v East Thurrock United
Truro City v Hemel Hempstead Town
Wealdstone v
Hungerford Town Welling United v Hampton & Richmond Borough
Weston-Super-Mare v Eastbourne Borough
Whitehawk v Poole Town
- Margate and Bps Stortford are relegated - possibly both to the Isthmian - the remaining drop spot goes to Whitehawk, Truro or Gosport - I suspect the 'White Tigers' from Cornwall will be desperate to hang on at STEP02; as there is a good chance they'll be facing Torquay in the league next season.
- The 'Gulls' look like plummeting down from the National - they'll need to get something at PO chasing Dover Athletic then host relegated N.Ferriby in their last fixture.ILP
Hendon v
Staines Town -Staines look set to complete their fixtures with a mid-table finish 9 points above the drop zone but 15 behind the POs- Havant & W currently sit top – but only a couple of points above Bognor - immediately below them in the POs are Dulwich Hamlet - with a further two to join the fray from Enfield Town, Leiston or Needham Market.IL1S
Corinthian-Casuals v
Godalming Town –G’s will take their place back in the CCLP (probably) next season - Guernsey were in serious danger of dropping out too up until about a month ago, since when, the sides below them, singularly failed to put any kind of run together to reel them in. The other two sides to be relegated, fit logically into the respective local feeder leagues hence why I’m fairly certain Godalming should be heading Combined Counties.
- Three Bridges will go to the Southern Combination (ex-Sussex) and Chatham Town will drop into the Southern Counties East (ex-Kent)
- I’ve no idea about grading and eligibility for 17-18 but based on likely finishing positions Haywards Heath or Shoreham may come up from Sussex ; the mostly Kent-based league will supply one of Crowborough or Ashford Utd – whither Hartley Wintney is anyone’s guess – they are even far enough west to be placed in the either of the Southern Div One’s.
- POs for the three Isthmian Leagues are this coming midweek with a few positions 2-5 to be jostled for on Saturday - probably home advantage a major consideration to be decided.
- In One South Tooting & Mitcham are Champions-elect with Dorking Wdrs are likely to be runners up – barring a remarkable GD change – when the sides meet @ Dorking’s Westhumble ground in the final game – DW would need to win by 5 . Assuming they don’t, they will host Hastings in one S-F with the other being between Greenwich Boro & Corinthian Casuals – the side finishing higher after tomorrow host the respective PO S-F and again the higher placed side hosts the fInal.SLP

- PO line-up still fluid dependent upon results in the last round of fixtures above: I think all POs are one legged starting this Wednesday – as it stands :
- SLP Champions Chippenham who will be in the National South next term – PO line-up : Slough would be at Leamington whilst Hitchin would go to Merthyr – though Slough could also climb to third and get home advantage if results go their way.
- Hayes and Yeading follow Cinderford down to Div One; the other two relegation places are not that clear cut – perm any two from Dorchester, Camb City Cirencester & Kings Langley.
- SL1C Royston are promoted as Champions- Farnborough are runners-up and will host Egham, AFC Dunstable or Kempston; Marlow are probably bound for 3rd placed Barton Rovers – though can be caught by Egham if the ‘Blues’ slip up at home to Chalfont St P and the ‘Sarnies’ overcome visitors Barton – in which case THEY would then need to go to the same opponents in the POs leaving Marlow to travel to Cherrywood Rd. – I think!
- Histon & Petersfield drop to STEP05
- SL1S&W –the line-up seems pretty set but the venues might adjust: Salisbury host Evesham and Taunton play Tiverton
- Wantage and Bridgwater are relegated to Hellenic and Western respectively.CCLP
AFC Hayes v
Badshot Lea Bedfont Sports v Knaphill
Chertsey Town v

Hanworth Villa v Sutton Common Rovers
Hartley Wintney v Walton & Hersham
Raynes Park Vale v Horley Town
Spelthorne Sports v Colliers Wood United
Westfield v CB Hounslow United
Windsor v
Camberley Town- Hartley Champions by a country mile – and other than an ongoing petty dispute with their neighbours (a Junior School) over Parking on match-days & evenings; seem clear to take promotion having done a lot of grading groundwork in time.
- - Badshot Lea, Bedfont & Feltham and RPV are relegated to Div One; replaced by Banstead, Redhill and newcomers BalhamCCL1
Balham v
Cove (at Cobham FC)
Banstead Athletic v
Ash United Eversley & California v Farleigh Rovers

Bagshot Worcester Park v South Park
HELL1E
Wokingham & Emmbrook v Chalfont Wasps
HELL Supplementary Cup S-FBicester Town v Ardley United 'lodgers' vs 'landlords' - Tuffley Rovers await in the Final having overcome Fairford Town midweek aet and pens- not sure of the venue for this years' Final - it's usually neutral but then Highworth hosted the Challenge Cup Final - a win over Brimscomb & Thrupp - on their own ground.- As it stands - only Henley Town drop down from the Premier with Woodley Utd, Fairford and Abingdon Utd set to step up.
- Wantage coming down from the Southern 1S&W to the Premier are replaced by Champions Thame Utd – not sure which league they’ll be ‘placed’ in – their preference likely to be Central, with least travelling but then that’s what Flackwell thought a couple of years back?

Alresford Town v
Andover Town Hamworthy United v
Whitchurch United Moneyfields v Newport (IoW)
Portland United v Bemerton Heath Harlequins
- long-time leaders Moneyfields, have a 2 point lead over Portland Utd going into the last round of matches – both host mid-table sides. Hanging over the scene is an FA hearing - the League pleaded for the issue to be resolved BEFORE the season concluded but it was not to be - so nothing is certain before the meeting NEXT Tuesday.
- Alresford are 5th ; Andover Town 15th and Whitchurch Utd down in 21st are almost certainly down; I hadn’t noticed the league had voted to relegate THREE sides for 17-18 – possibly the ‘Jam Boys’ , Verwood and Fawley (though Fawley could conceivably overhaul Cowes Sports) – the three sides coming up from the First division are all relatively new entrants to the Wessex – Hamble Club, Baffins Milton Rovers and Shaftesbury Town.WESS1
Downton v
Andover New Street Laverstock & Ford v
Tadley Calleva Ringwood Town v
Alton Romsey Town v Pewsey Vale
Shaftesbury v
Fleet Spurs - kept in the Holiday spirit and got out to three NL games this midweek
- Tue : Risborough 0-1 Buckingham Athletic
- Wed : Bicester Town 1-2 Sandhurst Town
- Fri: Tom Hooker League Cup Final (for the Wycombe and District League) played at Oak Tree Rd Marlow FC
- Greta Missenden 0-2 Sunters Wood Utd
Whilst Tooting & Mitcham do battle down at Dorking for the Isthmian 1 South title - we'll be in their yard for another title decider in the Surrey Elite Intermediate - watching their 'lodgers' Tooting Bec vs Virginia Water. VW are a point behind so must win to pinch the title and a place in the CCL for next season.
