Basingstoke Town now confirmed that they are leaving the Camrose at the end of this season. Good news is they are staying in town and part of a community club playing at a council pitch which also forms part of the Hampshire FA headquarters.

They will be changing this to a 3G / 4G pitch and also building a new stand so they can play at the correct level of football.

Was looking today at the fate of clubs promoted from the National South since it was founded in 04/05. Couple of outliers in Wimbledon and Newport who never looked back and made it to the Football League. Of the more traditional non league clubs aside from those like Lewes who suffered some sort of immediate financial trauma, the most common length of stay is 3 seasons. I think at this point the novelty has worn off and the a decision to approach some kind of full time set up needs to be made.
Interestingly this is the path chosen by the clubs promoted from 13/14 - 15/16. All of whom look to be prospering on the pitch. I think Maidenhead will live up to my pre season prediction and finish midtable. The crunch therefore is likely to come in planning for the 2019/20 season...

IF Maidenhead continue to finish mid-table in the National Prem until 2019/20, will they choose to go full time, do you think? Someone before mentioned that the ground would be a stifling point if a miracle promotion happened, so do you think that they might up sticks or redevelop ever?

Real shame to lose the Camrose. What are the plans for it. I presume it will be bulldozed for housing and retail or empty offices?

BT Sport or BBC 1/2/4 or a red button job?

Hoping Reading get the winners of this one.

The club have no plans to go full time. Not financially viable unless someone pumps more money into the club. They certainly will not be leaving York Road through choice. Ground ownership in the care of trustees for good reasons.

Ground situation might be an issue coming ground grading in March (with regards to any possible promotion). The clubs attempt to install turnstiles at the canal end thwarted by NIMBY neighbours.

And don't go down the 'I know more about football than you' childishness JS. You make yourself look rather silly in what is an otherwise good thread.

I never said that - I was just asking you a question is that OK? You called me the day tripper and I've been to most games for the past 3 seasons

Thanks for giving me answers to those questions, though.

I heard an interesting fact about Tony Le Mesmer. Wherever he is in the world, his Rothmans Football Yearbook collection goes with him.

Bracknell beat Hungerford last night in the BB Cup and could get Slough next round! Really starting to hit some form now. Great stuff.

Always found the Camrose a bit soulless and windswept. Winklebury slightly more central location

With a Didcot v Maidenhead tie lined up for the B&B Cup, id be refraining from comments like that if I were you.

... and the results on a fairly goal-filled afternoon:

Sat 18th Nov

NAT
Hartlepool United 0-2 Aldershot Town
Woking 1-1 Maidenhead United
NATN
Bradford Park Avenue 2-0 Brackley Town
NATS
Hungerford Town 0-1 Truro City
Oxford City 3-2 Wealdstone

ILP
Merstham 1-5 Staines Town

SLP
Banbury United 1-1 St Neots Town
Basingstoke Town 1-2 King's Lynn Town
Bishop's Stortford 2-2 Farnborough
Chesham United {THIRTEEN} 13-1 Merthyr Town - 9-0 at HT - Chesham’s thirteenth was scored on 67’ with ¼ of the game remaining - the Martyr’s consolation on 83’. It would appear that the 'Generals' eased off considerably out of respect/sympathy for their visitors plight'
Back story is that budgets at Merthyr have been massively cut this week and with no money for wages, today’s playing squad was made up of purely development players – keeper was only 15 and named man of the match.

Slough Town 3-0 Weymouth
SL1E
AFC Dunstable {SIX} 6-1 Egham Town
Arlesey Town 1-2 Beaconsfield Town
Chalfont St Peter
2-0 Ashford Town (Middx)
Fleet Town 1-0 Barton Rovers
Hartley Wintney 1-2 Cambridge City
Hayes & Yeading United 4-0 Aylesbury United
Marlow 2-2 Bedford Town - Marlow come back with 2 in the last 10’
Moneyfields 3-1 Hanwell Town
Thame United 1-0 Uxbridge
SL1W
Didcot Town 4-2 Barnstaple Town – late drama at The Loop; all 6 goals in the last ½ hr including Diddy’s 3rd and 4th beyond the 90'.
Kidlington 3-0 Paulton Rovers
North Leigh 3-1 Bishops Cleeve
Yate Town 1-1 Winchester City

CCLP
Abbey Rangers 4-2 Colliers Wood United
AFC Hayes 2-0 Epsom & Ewell
Balham 1-2 Westfield
Banstead Athletic 1-1 Knaphill
Camberley Town 0-0 North Greenford United
Farnham Town 1-2 CB Hounslow United
Godalming Town 0-4 Bedfont Sports
Hanworth Villa 2-1 Sutton Common Rovers
Horley Town 2-0 Chertsey Town
Redhill 0-3 Walton & Hersham
Spelthorne Sports 3-3 Guildford City
CCL1
AC London 3-4 Worcester Park
Bedfont & Feltham 1-3 Badshot Lea
Cobham
5-0 Bagshot
Farleigh Rovers 1-6 {SIX} Chessington & Hook United

South Park Reserves 3-3 Ash United
Staines Lammas 2-2 Sheerwater

HELLP
Ascot United 1-1 Tuffley Rovers
Binfield 2-2 Lydney Town
Brackley Town Saints {EIGHT} 8-0 Burnham - from some random snippets I've picked up it seems the side put out a week or so back that won impressively at Scours have now suffered several key absences which might explain the two subsequent reverses.
Flackwell Heath 1-1 Abingdon United
Highworth Town {SEVEN} 7-0 Oxford City Nomads
Wantage Town 3-0 Royal Wootton Bassett Town
Woodley United 1-2 Brimscombe & Thrupp
