Hoop Blah After the conspiracy theories from Bracknell about the fixtures it's interesting to see Thatcham's fixtures for the next run of games.

Saturday - FA Vase Semi-final second leg (away)
Monday- Cup game away to Didcot
Wednesday- top of the table clash away to Highworth
Saturday - Brackley at home
Monday - Longlevens at home
Thursday - Cup game at home vs Brimscombe
Saturday - away to Burnham
Tuesday - home to Burnham

8 games in 18 days, and more to come if they win those cup games too.

And I can see Thatcham winning all of those :)

What's Bracknell's run like? Should be something very similar.

More games but, at the moment, perhaps a little more evenly spread out. They have a couple of cup games yet to be scheduled though, so that will probably change a little.

... bit of perspective on fixture pile-ups - Thatcham's opponents tomorrow have an eye-watering TWENTY-FOUR Fixtures to fit in between now and sometime in May - and two of those are marked 'tba'; with no leeway for further Cup ties - they are still in their County Cup too. :shock:

...here's the rest of tomorrow's NL schedule and for once the weather may not wipe too many out:

FAT S-F 2nd Legs (1st leg scores)
Gateshead v Bromley (2-3)
Wealdstone v Brackley Town (0-1)

FAV S-F 2nd Legs
Stockton v Marske (2-0) sold out
1874 Northwich v Thatcham Town (0-1) @ Witton Albion – pay on the gate

NAT
Aldershot Town v Boreham Wood
Ebbsfleet United v Maidenhead United
Leyton Orient v Woking
NATS
Bath City v Havant & Waterlooville
East Thurrock United v Chippenham Town
Eastbourne Borough v Truro City
Hampton & Richmond Borough v Braintree Town
Hemel Hempstead Town v Gloucester City
Hungerford Town v Welling United
Oxford City v Dartford
St Albans City v Poole Town
Weston-super-Mare v Bognor Regis Town
Whitehawk v Concord Rangers

SLP
Banbury United v St Ives Town
Basingstoke Town v Slough Town - Rebels triumphed 4-1 at St Ives on Tue eve - stay 5th but opening up a useful gap back to Chesham who lead the chasing pack for the PO spots
Chesham United v Weymouth
Farnborough v Stratford Town
SL1E
Ashford Town (Middx) v Barton Rovers
Aylesbury v Hanwell Town
Cambridge City v Aylesbury United
Hartley Wintney v AFC Rushden & Diamonds
Hayes & Yeading United v Uxbridge - HandY picked up an impressive three points at AFC R&D in midweek - closed the gap to 5 points but have played three games more
Kempston Rovers v Fleet Town
Marlow
v Chalfont St Peter
Northwood v Beaconsfield Town
Thame United
v Egham Town
SL1SW

Bishops Cleeve v Kidlington
Evesham United v Winchester City
North Leigh v Cinderford Town
Paulton Rovers v Swindon Supermarine

CCLP
CCLP Prem S-F
Worcester Park v Sutton Common Rovers
CCLP
Abbey Rangers v Horley Town
AFC Hayes v Guildford City
CB Hounslow United v Chertsey Town
Colliers Wood United v North Greenford United
Epsom & Ewell v Bedfont Sports
Farnham Town v Knaphill
Godalming Town
v Spelthorne Sports
Hanworth Villa v Redhill
Westfield v Banstead Athletic
CCL1
Chessington & Hook United v South Park Reserves
Cobham v Bedfont & Feltham
Farleigh Rovers v Cove
FC Deportivo Galicia v Ash United
Fleet Spurs
v Sheerwater
Kensington Borough v Eversley & California
Raynes Park Vale v Bagshot
Staines Lammas v AC London

- took in two games this week in this division.
Tue: For me possibly one of the best games of the season so far - and I'm easily pleased :mrgreen: - witnessed a really lively 5-2 away win for bottom club Cove, at struggling Fleet Spurs. Possibly reflective of the poor quality of their opponents - odd for a home side to only have one individual sat on the bench throughout - he actually came on as a late 2nd half sub. Cove raced into a 2-0 lead were pegged back and I'd assumed the inevitable would ensue ... but they regrouped and scored three terrific 2nd half goals : - one individual finish after a slalom past about half-a-doz. (admittedly weary) defenders.
Wed: more of a workmanlike top vs mid-table up at the plane-spotters paradise that is The Orchard, home of Bedfont & Feltham and lodgers this season - transferees from the S.Mids - Kensington Borough. Third placed Sheerwater laboured a bit but won 2-0 comfortably enough in the end. The hosts (Borough) carried very little goal threat but played some neat passing stuff.

HELLP
Binfield v Highworth Town - 'Worthians' progressed to their County Final with an impressive 2-1 win at Salisbury - will now play Vanarama side Chipp'num Town in the Final - more than likely be held at Melksham as the Wilts FA, seem to like hosting games in the shiny new stadium there.

Brackley Town Saints v Lydney Town
Bracknell Town v Fairford Town
Highmoor Ibis v Tuffley Rovers
Longlevens v Woodley United
Royal Wootton Bassett Town v Ascot United
Wantage Town
v Flackwell Heath
HL1E
Bicester Town v Wallingford Town AFC
Chalfont Wasps v Didcot Town Reserves
Milton United v Virginia Water
Penn & Tylers Green v Chinnor
Wokingham & Emmbrook v Holyport

HELL Chall
Windsor v Easington Sports

WESSP
Andover Town v Baffins Milton Rovers
Team Solent v Alresford Town
WESS1
Ringwood Town v Alton
Tadley Calleva
v Hythe & Dibden
Whitchurch United v United Services Portsmouth

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
...whilst checking the leading positions across STEP05 I thought it worth noting that the dust appears to be settling on a few contests - particularly in our featured leagues:
CCL (Combined Counties) - Westfield are 8 points clear with 4 games in hand - chasers Bedfont Sports & SCR only have 7 & 8 games left respectively.
HELLP [Hellenic Premier] - still open - with HIghworth only two ahead of Thatcham, who themselves have 2 games in hand - 5 points further back are Wantage then three more to Flackwell: Bracknell are 17 points behind Highworth but with 6 games in hand.
SSMP [Spartan Souith Midlands] - very competitive - Welwyn Garden City now top by 1 point from Berkhamstead - who've led almost all season (I think) until this past week or so.
WESSP [Wessex Premier] - Andover's win at Bournemouth Poppies in midweek sees them lead the table by 17 points from Hamworthy, who have played three games more and cannot gain sufficient points to overtake. Blackfield & Langley are theoretically within reach, as they have 4 games in hand on Andover.
WESTP [Western Premier] - Street have a 13 point lead and have just won 3-0 at their closest rivals Bradford Town.
Binfield beat Highworth too, opens the door that little more for both Thatcham and Bracknell to pip them to promotion.
Binfield have really come on in the 2nd half of the season. Old Roger is doing a cracking job.
£25 for the double header, Stockton v Thatcham, Brackley v ex-Royal Neil Smiths Bromley.
Decent
Eastbourne Borough 1-3 Truro City
Hampton & Richmond Borough 1-1 Braintree Town
Hemel Hempstead Town 3-1 Gloucester City
Hungerford Town 1-4 Welling United - 'Crusaders sinking fast, now down to 19th - will need to hope that Poole don't suddenly find some form - the bottom two look gone; though Whitehawk continue to pick up some surprise results
Oxford City 0-2 Dartford
St Albans City 2-1 Poole Town
Weston-super-Mare 1-0 Bognor Regis Town
Whitehawk 2-0 Concord Rangers
SLP
Banbury United 3-1 St Ives Town
Basingstoke Town 1-4 Slough Town - Dragons, who’d won their previous 7 home games, led on 1’. Rebels levelled through Ben Harris 5’ later, took the lead on H/T and eased away in the 2nd half. Former Royals Scott Davies in the starting line-up; just signed for them – was at Chelmsford following spells at Oxford C & Wealdstone – not to mention his time at the Sh!ts. :?
Chesham United 0-6 {SIX} Weymouth - Generals PO chances fading fast after this; are now 9 points adrift of Sluff and have played three games more.
Farnborough 1-4 Stratford Town
SL1E
Ashford Town (Middx) 1-0 Barton Rovers
Aylesbury 0-3 Hanwell Town
Cambridge City 1-0 Aylesbury United
Hartley Wintney 2-1 AFC Rushden & Diamonds att 269 – ‘The Row’ hand out a 2nd successive defeat to the leaders. Vital game over Easter as AFC R&D travel to Beaconsfield Town in 3rd , who are only 2 points behind them. They both have midweek games though, as do HW in 5th who play lowly Aylesbury
ILP
Dorking Wanderers 4-0 Merstham
Staines Town 1-4 Leiston
CCLP
CCLP Prem S-F
Worcester Park 3-2 Sutton Common Rovers - Div One runaway leaders advance past SCR (currently 3rd in the Premier) to face Knaphill in the Final - odd thing is that WP are in the Div One competition S-F too - so could feasibly win a treble and then very possibly drop back to the Surrey County Leagues. They cannot develop their Skinners Field ground to have STEP05 grading - which may become compulsory for CCL clubs in 18-19 or soon after. Nor would they benefit from arranging a g/share - even if they wanted to go up - as I believe there are no prospects of ever upgrading, unless the current owners (probably the Social Club) change their long-standing opposition.
CCLP
Abbey Rangers 2-1 Horley Town
AFC Hayes 3-2 Guildford City
CB Hounslow United 5-1 Chertsey Town
Colliers Wood United 0-1 North Greenford United
Epsom & Ewell 2-4 Bedfont Sports
Westfield {SEVEN} 7-1 Banstead Athletic
CCL1
Chessington & Hook United 2-1 South Park Reserves
Raynes Park Vale {SEVEN} 7-1 Bagshot
Staines Lammas 3-2 AC London
HELLP
Binfield 3-2 Highworth Town - ‘Moles’ upset the leaders, turning the game on its head with three goals in the last 15’ – next face Bracknell at Stubbs Lane tomorrow night; whilst Worthians welcome 2nd placed Thatcham to The Elms on Wed.
Brackley Town Saints 1-1 Lydney Town
Bracknell Town {TEN} 10-3 Fairford Town
Highmoor Ibis P-P Tuffley Rovers
Longlevens P-P Woodley United
Royal Wootton Bassett Town 1-0 Ascot United
Windsor 4-1 Easington Sports
WESSP
Andover Town 0-3 Baffins Milton Rovers
Bemerton Heath Harlequins 0-8 {EIGHT} Blackfield & Langley
Team Solent P-P Alresford Town
WESS1
Ringwood Town 2-1 Alton
Tadley Calleva
2-0 Hythe & Dibden
Whitchurch United 2-1 United Services Portsmouth rare win for the JamBoys against one of the divisions’ form sides
...got the idea that yesterday was NOT a day to venture out on M'ways - appeared to be 'hot spots' everywhere - left it later than usual, then headed out cross-country, down through Surrey and just over the 'border' into into North Sussex for :
Southern Combination Premier (STEP05 formerly known as the Sussex County League) Loxwood 2-1 Hassocks - down some windy 'A' roads south of Guildford, Loxwood is set amongst the remains of a Pine forest (as the name suggest)
Got a 'new tick', a decent pint, a badge and a programme and the game wasn't that bad either. :mrgreen:
Binfield 0 : 1 Bracknell .
Good hard fought win against the noisy neighbours who were desperate to derail the promotion charge. Some rather robust challenges and a clueless referee combined to make it a feisty encounter. Another game in hand ticked off and won.
