Denver Royal If Stam goes, we'd still want the new manager to have as good a squad as possible. You might even be able to attract a better manager because of it. I think Martin would add something to the squad, and I'm guessing many prospective manager's would feel the same way, thus we should sign him.
Btw, it's not just about the number of goals he scores. Maybe he gets some assists, wins us pens, free kicks, and corners, etc. Maybe his movement is helpful to others. Maybe he could hold the ball up better. So, there's a lot he, or maybe someone else, could bring to the table.

Hound After watching today with Martin in mind - I don’t think he’ll make the slightest bit f difference. I can’t see how he’d score any goals the way we play

Coleman saying he’s 99% certain of adding another signing - probably a striker. Not Chris Martin, though. #safc

Stranded Tweet from Alan Nixon today stating a couple of "lazy" strikers essentially refusing to move to play football. Slight suggestion from others that Martin is one of those.

Hound looks like we have a free run at him if we want him.
Only other club can see mentioned is Fulham who have already said they don't want him.

yeah, can't say his attitude in making the move feels me with a lot of hope for him. Reckon he is basically holding on in the hope that a top 10 club come in for him. Certainly doesnt seem to be desperate to play for us (and probably rightfully so)

linkenholtroyal It looks like this could happen. Pointing towards a permanent deal aswell.
Comes across as a player that just wants to belong somewhere.
Come on Stam and Brian put a big arm round him tell him he will be a main striker with us and get it over the line.

Just hope he hasn't noticed that what Reading do have by way of strikers spend a lot of their time on the bench, not in the squad, injured or in midfield.

Hound looks like this is happening - from SSN
Derby striker Chris Martin is in Reading this afternoon, and will undergo a medical before completing a loan deal for the rest of the season.
He’s yet to agree all the personal terms involved in the deal, but both Reading and Derby are happy with the situation.
just waiting for that Bushwatch clown to spot him
