RUMOUR - Sidwell back in Jan

by ayjaydee » 03 Nov 2012 10:54

Bit of a friend of a friend reliable source job but the word from the Cottage is that the ginger one is on his way back. Apparently he wanted to see the reaction from the fans last weekend before committing.

I'm sure after the Fulham game Dellor spoke to Shorey and asked if he was doing the manager's recruitment and trying to persuade Sidwell to join and Shorey said something like 'he doesn't need any convincing'.

Probably read too much into it but I'd love him to come back, he's 10x the player of Karacan and Tabb.

He did tweet after the game that he was very flattered by the reception he got.

Not usually a fan of players returning but he would be just what we'd need.

I'd love to see him back. But is he the player he was? Hasn't made much impact on the premier teams he's played for, apart from us.

I thought he looked good on Match of the Day for Fulham this year, but whenever fit and playing well for Villa he'd score an own goal, get a second yellow or miss a crucial pass - bad luck more than bad play.

He should come back home!

He was the midfielder McDermott should have made sure that he signed in the summer. Even more so now that Guthrie appears to have been the wrong guy and not the type of player McDermott wants.

The one player we should absolutely go balls out to get in Jan. Would love it if he came back

Apparently we tried but with Danny Murphy then Etuhu leaving he thought he'd be able to hold down a regular spot at Fulham and didn't want to leave.

Love him back. He's not too old, he's exactly the sort of strong, athletic and direct player we need, but is still able to pass and can threaten the goal as well.

£45k a week to not play at Chelsea....£20k to play at Reading IIRC

It was a no brainer for the fellah

Never had any gripe with him...gave his all and put his balls on the line....even when he was outward bound from our Royal family.

Would be delighted to see him wearing the hoops again

It was 65k a week we offered him 25k to stay. As for him coming back? More chance of me shagging Kelly Brooke.

What's Harper doing these days? We need someone to pass sideways and keep the ball. Perfect partnership.
