All 'keeper's have bad days and he's still currently in the PL, which we aren't. Federici let in six against Peterborough last season. Doesn't make him shit.

Any player with an ounce of ambition beyond May would be crazy to sign for QPR and Redknapp. They are going to finish in the bottom 3, with a choice between a crippling fine or exclusion from football anywhere from the Conference up. They will also have to find a way of operating within FFP, which Harry won't be able to do.
Obita to QPR seems unlikely !

Didn't say it did, I said that it's not a very good start in reaction to the comment that he shouldn't be written off for QPR yet, which it's not.

Perfect fit for us. PL experienced, proper left-back, oh and he's injured. Perfect fit. :D

I reckon half the Premiership would have been interested in McCarthy, I think the issue of him warming the bench is a red herring but QPR, a club who squeaked up through the play offs with a very weak squad by Premier League standards and FFP penalties hanging over their head seemed a very odd choice. More likely, it was a question of the club urgently needing the money before deadline day and accepting the first half decent offer that came in.

It's alright we're getting Jure Travner, a player so excellent that his Azerbaijani league contract is about to run out.

I'm happy to wait and see him play.

We waltzed the league with 106 points with a team almost entirely made up of players that most current posters would have dismissed out of hand had they been around then.....

Sidwell, Shorey and Kitson were three of the best rated players outside the Prem and at least two of them almost certainly would have been playing there with or without us the next season. Hahnemann was also one of the best couple of keepers in the Championship too. Lita was the next big thing from League One. That's just not true.

But he is talking about before they signed for us. Shorey was a reserve from a lower league club, Sidwell was highly rated after a couple of decent loan spells and Kitson was getting noticed due to his goals for Cambridge. But in general the players that made up that team weren't world beaters before they joined us and had something to prove at that level.

BBC West Yorkshire Sport says Leeds United have now confirmed that former Liverpool defender Stephen Warnock, 33, has joined Derby County in an undisclosed deal.
Warnock has signed an 18-month deal with Derby, with the option of a further year.

They were by and large players on their up yes. They didn't all immediately settle in to a Championship winning team as individuals or as a team.

Shorey for example had been with us for 3 or 4 seasons before that, and likewise Murty who was about 6 years in by then.

Not all that side were players bought on the cheap that would've been dismissed by most either. Murty cost us £700k, Lita £1m and both Harper, Sidwell and Gunnarsson (perhaps the only player we bought in at that time that wasn't young and improving) all pretty well regarded and with price tags around the £500k mark.

Young and improving, with something to prove yes, cheap and cheerful and done on a shoestring budget, no.

Never rated him at Villa....

Never understood how he ever got an Englanid cap...

And every time I see his name I think of Kebe tearing him apart in the first half at the Madjeski in that cup quarter final where he was only saved because villa changed their tactics and stopped us getting the ball to him...

If he's 33 now then definitely not for me!

Sorry for sitting on the fence!
