Yeah, his agent looks like a bit of a oxf*rd but he's a football agent, so what do you expect?

I'd much rather be a hard working and talented if slightly limited footballer with a dickhead agent than a lonely old man posting racist crap on Internet forums, Crux.

Williams did nothing wrong here. Let's hope he plays brilliantly then gets bought by Derby before he's out of contract!

Williams is not everyone's cup of tea, but he's a fighter and has always been professional in his work at the club.

Have to say I'm completely puzzled as to what Williams is meant to have done wrong here. All I see is him having a bit of a laugh with his agent. Shock horror his agent is pushing him for a move, but what exactly has Williams said!?

I don't really see what Williams has done wrong other than have a twat for an agent (a given) and laugh at stupid things the agent has put on twitter.

And spell things wrong like "is" and "off".

Not even pushing for a move tbh, the guy plays his last game for us in about 8 months anyway so any decent agent would already be sounding out potential new clubs for their player.

All this proves is what absolute vermin majority of football agents are. Solely looking out for their own back pockets.

Agreed.

They're almost as bad as Referees.

It's almost like it's their entire point in existing.

An agent has only one goal: make money.
How ? Transfert players as many as possible and asking for better wage.
The worst is that they convinced their own players that a good thing.

A: The agent is employed primarily to handle the business side of a player's affairs and it's a business so why the hell not make money out of it?

B: That's a rediculous sweeping statement. I doubt very much that you know ALL of the agents and there are very likely plenty out there who care about their trade and have the players best at heart too.

Williams linked to Burnley, Swansea and Crystal Palace according to the Sun(lol).

If there is any truth, I think it'd be a shame to see him go at this point, but with him unlikely to sign an extension, at least there might be a bit of a bidding war for him.

Unlikely to get any sort of decent fee for him with 6 months left on his contract, so might as well hold onto him and not disrupt the squad IMO

depends whats on offer - Derby stupid enough to stump up 3 mill for Blackman last year

Would rather keep hold if possible, but can understand if a decent offer (2m+) came in the owners wanting to cash in as I can't see him staying beyond the summer unfortunately

McCleary would be more of a loss - I'm sure there are plenty of clubs looking at him at the moment

Presuming he's on £25k a week, 7 months from January to July would be £750,000, which one of the clubs would have to pay up plus a bit on top.

Why the fcuk did Derby pay £3m for Blackman?

I think it's worth keeping him, and if possible get him to sign a new contract but that's never going to happen on reduced terms. Surprised he's stayed this long tbh.

Would he accept a contract on reduced terms though? I can't see it. He's arguably good enough for the prem where they could easily match or beat his current contract, he's in his prime and this would likely be his last "big" contract as 3-4 years would take him into his 30's. I think our only hope of keeping him is if we did manage to get promoted this year, and even then I think there may be better alternatives. The other thing to consider is the change of national team coach, he might get told he needs to play at a higher level to get into the US team.

If a good offer comes in, and by good I would mean more than what we got for Blackman, I can't see us standing in his way. It's certainly not a position we are short in.

Meh. He absolutely has quality, but I just feel he doesn't fit in our team that well. His qualities almost work against the team in some ways. Plus he's bound to be on a fair old wedge.

If we can replace him or it helps bring through someone like Kelly, Barrett, Weiser etc then I'm all for it, particularly if Quinn can fully recover.

Disliked by Nigel Howe, Tiger & most Reading fans (in my experience) - he will be gone in January.
