RUMOUR: Wes Hoolahan

by Reading4eva » 28 Dec 2016 18:34

From Steve in the Fox and Hound, we are meant to be ready to make a bid for Norwich's Wes Hoolahan following a fall out with Manager Alex Neill.

Thoughts everyone?

Was the fall out over the McShane tackle ?

Hoolahan would be a great signing, always rated this guy and would suit our style of play. Not sure about his asking price or remaining contract time. Maybe 2 mill would get him. strike quick as i expect Alex Neil to be gone real quick.

If we are 'ready' to make a bid why have we not made it ?
Are Jaap, Brian and Nigel daring each other to go first ?
Why have they told Steve but not Alex ?
This sounds awfully fishy......

Nothing to stop bids being made or accepted now. You can bet there are talks going on all over lining up business for January.

Go back up the pub and stay there, especially if it has no internet.

Good player, but he's 34. He doesn't offer enough defensively to play in midfield in our system, so he'd need to play as one of the supporting forwards. With McCleary, Beerens, Harriott, and Meite, plus Tanner, Fosu, and Stacey to come back from loans and Barrett waiting for his chance, we've got plenty of players in his position. WCBAP. Signed a two-year contract last summer.

Think we'd be better of signing Tata Youre than Hoolihan personally.
