Dominic Samuel

In talks with Barnsley (Loan) according to the Daily Mail

Would prefer if we could sell him to be honest. Barnsley must have a fair amount to spend after the players they sold.

Is he out of contract at the end of the season?

fully expect him to be loaned out today, but not to a potential play off contender.

Why? With samuels finishing he'd hamper them if anything.

didn't say Id be that bothered by him going to Barnsley, just I wouldn't expect us to.

Don't think he did badly for us though, just probably not up to the required standard

Would suggest that Samuel going anywhere is dependent in us getting a striker in.

And I presume if we do loan him to Barnsley that he will be precluded from playing against us only I seem to recall us allowing Rosenior (or someone) to play against us in a league game a few years back.

noticed Rakels was back playing for the U23s. Suppose it also rests on how he is looking. To be honest, would rather Rakels from what I have seen than Samuel if he is back 100%

Strange one. If Stam's not playing him then why not sale him. Seems to be quite a few championship clubs interested.

Safe move. Get him the Championship games he needs. If we go up we don't need him, if we stay down he's potentially in a better position to make our first team.

There was late interest, ironically, from Leeds. We seemed to have pissed them off somewhat by nabbing Grabban at the last minute. They thought they had that one nailed!

Really? I don't see why they would want Samuel, even has back up to Wood.

Good move for Samuel IMO, good club, good manager and they are crying out for a goalscorer so he should get games.

Is the "can't play against your parent team" a rule automatically set in every loan contract now or just something that clubs put into the loan agreement themselves. I have a vague memory of Reading loaning a player to a team in the same division this century and that player then playing against them.

With us playing them on Saturday, I'd like to think we've inserted the clause.

We have. Beeb already reporting he's ineligible for Saturday. Suspect the same was said on the OS.

He can't play against us unless we agreed it as part of the loan agreement. Cl 52.7 of the league rules.
