BOYD HAS OPTIONS

George Boyd is set to leave Burnley on a free transfer this summer with Reading among the clubs interested.

Boyd is out-of-contract at Turf Moor and has decided against renewing.

I cant find any mention of Reading showing interest in Boydd. Good target/show of intent for a promotion push if true

He's more a winger/attacking midfielder isn't he?

Didn't realise he was 32.

at 32 he'd be a good 2 year signing with experience of geting out of the Championship both with Burnley and Hull and his 100 or so Premier League apps. But I think he'll go beyond our wage structure maybe to Villa or Derby.

saw him as being a hard working attacking midfielder type

digging a bit deeper on this, can't see he'd be of great interest to us actually. Looking for a 3 year deal rather than take the 1 year offered at Burnley. Probably be expensive. Obviously no sell on. Can't see it being the type of player Jaap, and especially BT, will be after

Burnley don't pay big wages-am another one who has always liked the player.

correct Burnley dont pay big wages hence Boydd not signing a new 1 year contract offered. The player is reported as to wanting a 3 year deal = beyond our wage structure

Always seemed slightly out of his depth, and I have always been surprised he has maintained his career - a bit like Shane Long - so I would say no.

No, Oilroyal is correct. Huddersfield have been quoted as being interested but he's out of their price range so unfortunately won't be coming to us, as much as I'd like to see him here

At Turf Moor, it was about survival (survival)
Boyd will move to a championship rival
