its a shame if it does happen but can fully understand why he would go if he does

Hopefully we'll get a few quid and get in a decent replacement.

He has left according to the Saudi club Al Hilal...

Reading Chronicle READING FC Player of the Season Ali Al-Habsi has signed a three-year deal with Al Hilal FC, according to the Saudi Arabia club.

The Omani goalkeeper was linked with a move to Premier League West Brom over the weekend.

But unconfirmed reports have since emerged on social media suggesting he has agreed to join Al Hilal.

Al-Habsi was present at Hogwood Park for pre-season training with the Royals today, though the club are yet to confirm or deny the rumour that he is leaving.

Al-Habsi quickly established himself as a fans' favourite following his switch to Berkshire from Wigan Athletic and has won the club's Player of the Season accolade for two years in a row.

However RFC have not confirmed as yet though so who knows.

Think Courtney got mixed up there as it's a journo rather than Al-Hilal that have said it, unless he has links to Saudi!

He may be the best shot stopper and have the best command of his area but can he fart arse about with it for 80% of the game with the ball at his feet?

Seriously, under any normal circumstances he would be ideal and still only 30 I believe.

I just get a horrible feeling that Stam with sign absolute dog shit as a replacement. He'll be nice and tidy on the deck but an absolute disaster when the ball is stuck on top of him.

Well, if there's a keeper that can comfortably do both, he wouldn't be playing in the Championship.

It's going to be a trade-off, unless we want to spend millions

Michel Vorm, dutch, good with his feet surplus to requirements at Spurs. will probably go to a prem club but BT might be able to work his magic.

I cant see us promoting from within. Jaakola just isn't good enough and Bond has been loaned out.

Alex McCarthy's distribution was the worst I think I've ever seen from any GK.

Can't see Federici coming back although I think he would be perfect for this system.

I think Stam will recruit from Holland.

Kenneth Vermeer would be an ideal replacement. Great on the ball. Not sure what sort of wages he'll be on at Feyenoord mind.

Unfortunately Warner Hahn just signed for Herenveen as he is basically a younger rougher version.

Jaakkola brilliant Penalty saver  don't know how anyone can say he's not good enough, he hasn't been given a chance.

That's a good shout although he must be on massive wages.

Another player in a similar position would be Maarten Stekelenburg.
At Everton but don't think he's been getting much game time behind Joel Robles.

Well, logically Ansii Jaakkola would be the replacement as he was signed by Stam and therefore should fit in with the style of play he's trying to get across.

Al-Habsi just tweeted a pic of him giving a thumbs up (in reading colours) with blue hearts.

Read into that what you will.
