He couldn't even get in the Cardiff team! and has just been released from his contract with a year still to run.... He's 35 and slow (haven't we already got one of them) he's finished.

A striker's career goes down hill very quickly once you go past 31, the ones who don't rely on pace tend to last a bit longer but will start to decline when they reach mid-30s.

The Lambert of today is nowhere near the standard of striker we need.

I'm not sure it's quite a simple as that - Yann and Zlatan would argue otherwise, but either way Lambert is not for us
