Oilroyal Worst case it’s 6 weeks + fitness recovery time, he’d be back after the international break having missed 10 league games, but available for 34 league + cup games. If the price reflects this then why not sign him. I’m sure any sale to us would be by instalment and on condition the player recovers fully, within a given timeframe before the full asking price is met. Not really a risk as such.

Worst case it's 10 weeks + fitness time and he's not the same player on recovery. When was the last time one of our injured players returned on schedule?

Some players do, most dont.

Anyway I was told by many last Saturday that it’s a marathon and not a sprint. If we are in for him and he’s injured for the next 10 or so games and the asking price reflects this, then surly after all these transfer windows with Wells on our transfer wish list, I would have thought that now is the time to sign him. Unless of course we have other decent options for a mobile striker

If there's a big discount, yeah fine. But whilst it is a marathon, there's no point in walking the first 8 miles and expecting to get a good time, when you could have made an effort to get off to a better start.

We already missed the better start and our main striker target. Are you hoping for a striker to be in place to hit the ground running any time soon?

Missed the better start? We've played one game! That's the marathon equivalent of half a mile.

Sooner than an injured Wells? Yeah, hopefully.

I'm with you brother. But to use two well-known phrases, you can’t make a silk purse out of a pigs ear, given our spending power and the clock is ticking

We're currently bang on schedule to equal our record of 106 points....

Just putting our 'slow' starts to some vague sort of context.

If Wells can't move this window due to injury no doubt as of 01 September his value will drop - he'll only have 6 months as of the next window until he can walk out free. Which probably would be the best thing for him, if he wants a Prem team to take a punt.

No doubt interest would increase too.

Rookie error.

Damn it, I've been reading this site for years too I just hardly post anything, probably the reason I lost my job at Royal Mail too

Have you applied to GetReading? Could be the ideal candidate.

Haha regurgitate posts and attach a video of my stupid face every time I give my low down? Ironically, JL's face is low down the list on things I like to see

Out for a further 7 weeks according to Wagner

This definitely isn't going to happen

thats a weird signing. 5th choice striker from a pretty weak looking side who have just come up from the champ.
