Royalwaster Think it will be 0 - but expect a loan signing instead.

Jota at £6m seems like a great bit of business

Kind of pisses me off that we've gone for Aluko if Jota was available for that.

liked jota a lot from what I saw last year. But realistically only really performed for 6 months and very limited experience in this country compared to Aluko

but yeah would have happily had him for 6m

Suppose it's difficult to perform well when you were injured for the rest of it.

genome I don't think we're desparate for a striker - we tend to play with one up top, and Bodvarsson has looked good there with Kermorgant coming back soon as well.

Would be good if we can get one in but not the end of the world if we don't.

I'm confused

When did Kermorgant suddenly become a bad option? :|

im confused, when did I say he was bad?

1 thing is for certain though is that at his age he isn't getting better or less injury prone any time soon

just don't think what we have is anywhere near enough.
some more variation would be nice for starters

You didn't, but 19 goals last year shows we already have goals in that department, and he only hit form after the turn of the year so he will still be capable of that

I'm not saying we shouldn't bother getting a striker, just that it's not the end of the world if nothing happens, given the formation we play.

Bod has made a good start as well

I think no decent extra striker puts a significant dent in our promotion hopes.

im not asking you to agree though

If we don't get buy a striker, I'd like to see us try to pick up a young Prem striker on loan. Just for cover really. Its going to take a while to get Yann back fully fit again, and I'm afraid Mendes just isn't the quality required.

Are people seriously expecting Yann to come back and just pick up where he left off? He has been out all pre-season and could well not hit form until the new year again this time as he did last season.

Bod has an indifferent scoring record at best and is simply another option in my opinion what we need as the final piece of the jigsaw is a proper 20 goal a season striker but unfortunately they cost.

5 players scored 20 goals in the Championship last season. None of them are viable targets . Of the players we are heavily linked with they got 12,11 and 11 goals, last season.

Thinking we could sign a player who has scored 20 in a season is just utterly unrealistic. We need to find players like Yann, who as a result of fitting in with our style performed better than would have been expected.
Bodvarsson may well be that person, but pretty much whoever we sign is going to have to be someone who plays above their previous performances.
