Victor Meldrew Dyer would be a step up from Popa,Beerens, McCleary (sadly) and Aluko (if he is a winger).
Stockley has done well since moving away from Bournemouth and my mate is friendly with his dad so will try to find out if there is any substance to this.

Thats strange as my mate is also a friend of His Dads'

Does your mate live in Bournemouth and have a surname that is just about the most common of all Anglo-Saxon names?

He does live in bournemouth but not sure about how common his surname is but it starts with a w

paddy20 Jayden Stockley couldn't get into Bournemouths team when they were in champ

Not sure I'd necessarily hold that against him too much, though. Cherries always seem to be deep at striker, from their Champ days up to now: Yann, Grabban, Wilson, King, Afobe, Defoe, etc. Wonder if we might use Yann as a resource and ask him about Stockley and get his input (assuming they were together at same time(?)).

Btw, Dyer would be a good addition at this juncture, I think. I agree the squad is somewhat unbalanced and needs to be tinkered with, but that can be addressed in the off-season.

Ah quite a coincidence Not sure from feedback that Stockley is right for us at the moment. We really need an experienced striker and goalscorer.

Be fair, Aluko does run, just not in any particular direction that's useful if Reading want to score a goal.

Apart from the 2 he has scored and 3 he has assisted, this season of course.

Pepe the Horseman Swansea reserve Dyer, who pretty much starts every game for them?

Exactly, that's why this "rumour" is a pile of doo-doo.

Hendo People who are saying we have too many wingers and don't need another one.

Barrow - decent, probably our best player but lacks a cutting edge.
Aluko - deemed not good enough by the masses.
Beerens - see above.
Popa - in the U23's, probably deserves a chance but if he doesn't score or provide an assist in a few games, he will also be deemed not good enough.
GMac - seriously unfit and looks a shaddow of his former self.
Harriot - Serious injury, unknown how he will perform when/if he comes back.

Yep, we have an abundance of good wingers and certainly don't need another one....

agree with your assessment of all of them, but we cant just keep buying new ones until one works.
maybe try offloading a few first

you have to question the spending of millions on a load of players who aren't good enough and/or never play

Oh I agree, we would need to offload some before getting anymore in, but I was more pointing out that people complaining about too many strikers need to think about the ones we have and if they are actually any good.
