Who is Graham Potter?

Sounds like your elderly neighbour who does a 2 hour shift in the local Co-Op every Tuesday and Thursday just to get out and about. He has a lovely little garden that he is very proud of. He was married to Betty for 52 years but she died last year and he is coping well with the help of his son, Alex.

This is the same Graham Potter who racked up a whopping 4 appearances on loan from WBA to Reading in 1999.

He's also the guy working wonders in Sweden taking a group of lower League part timers up the League and into Europe.

Genuine success story. No idea how that would translate here but definitely worth keeping an eye out for. I'm sure he'll manage in England sooner rather than later.

A former player of ours (yeah, so what if it was only a few games on loan 20 years ago!) who has now taken a Swedish minnow from the 4th tier of Swedish football into the knockout stages of the Europa League.

Someone in England is bound to take a punt on him at some point.

Edit: What Vision said!!

Think he's got Swedish wife and young family so doubt he'd be coming to UK any time soon.

Don't think he does. There was an intereview with him yesterday where he spoke about his wife giving up her business to move with him when he was offered the job.

He had apparently been interviewed on Swedish TV recently and spoke at length about what she had given up to support him and at the next game the fans unveiled a huge banner thanking her for everything.

Nice story, badly summarised there.

You're so off the pace vision.

Seeing for ourselves that top players often don't make good managers whereas moderate players often do, e.g. Fergie, Wenger, Mourinho,Klopp,Dyche, Howe,Pulis, Warnock etc. I would love it if our next one were to be a Potter, a Cowley, a Hurst who have already shown that they can manage.

There are definitely special skills required for managing superstars that are different but we haven't got any superstars even if some of them might think they are!!

He has done a great job in Sweden.

How well it would translate over here would certainly be interesting. Sure he'll find out sooner rather than later

Hadn't heard of him before today, but now he's my number one choice to take over from Stam.

His style of play isn’t easy to implement so fans will have to give him time. I can’t see him being a success here for that very reason
