NewCorkSeth Not the nicest of men but Jon Flanagan is available on a free..

Not nice, but turned 25 this year...right-footed but can play well at LB too...quite tall for a FB..."Speed, strength and determination...has everything required to be one of the best full-backs in the world".

In short, not somebody we'd really be interested in

I'm not entirely sure where to put this, as it doesn't deserve a new thread (although we could maybe do with a Local Journo Fail thread) so it can go in here.

Our favourite hacks at The Chronicle have mentioned in an article that "their sources suggest" John Swift is on his way, with a possible £12m move to Fulham. That source? "Tinpot Football News" on Twitter

maybe just create a new thread devoted to those two clowns.

just read the article. They've basically just hacked together the absolute nonsense posted on here over the last couple of days re: Swift, Roofe and Ireland. And put 'heavily linked' or 'unconfirmed reports' before it. Tragic.

FLW

Suggestion not a rumour.

We were linked with him last summer - would quite like to see him here. Think Preston wanted £4m then. He's contracted until 2021, added 2 years to the deal he signed in 2016 when he extended in July last year, after our links.

Do we need him now we have Meyler?

Anyone underwhelmed by transfers so far?

At the moment seem to be signing players that clubs are happy to release with the strong possibility of losing Moore & Swift. A failed bid in signing promising midfielder from Posh.No talk of a new striker.

Not much optimism so far although of course its still early days

Very much doubt Swift is going anywhere. 2 good free transfer signings, one poor one so far imo. I expect further incomings.

I'm actually slightly more bothered about the fact we've not shipped anyone out yet tbh.

Transfer window has just gone dead since the World Cup (as expected). The three weeks after the cup and before the start of the season/window closure are going to be mental

Will pick up a little once the group stages are over, then a bit more as teams start being knocked out so shouldn't all be condensed into those 3 weeks.

Let’s hope so. We have some deadwood in midfield that needs shifting.
