I think he would be weighing up his options of being in a struggling team in the PL not getting game time to being in a team potentially struggling in the champ but playing every game.
I am not sure he wants to go, however if the right offer comes in from a prem team and we accept I think his mind would be made up instantly.

Not saying he's a Stephen Pchunt who'll agitate to leave just because his agent says someone is interested, but as you say, if a decent bid comes in, he'll go.

I think he'd look at Shane Duffy and believe he is potentially a better player than that, and given time would be first choice. I'm pretty sure he will go if they give us an acceptable bid

I think he'd get in ahead of Duffy I agree. Would also be a good option for them if they wanted to a revert to a back 3. Moore is ready to step up, just got to hope we hold out for enough money. If we can get a decent replacement in for a fraction of it (Elphick probably) it will be a smart move.

Pretty sure Duffy is quite highly rated by Brighton and their fans. I wouldn't be so sure.

Duffy is decent certainly, and coming off a good season. But think that would be Moore's mentality. He wont go there thinking he will be back up

Was having a think about Premier League clubs who need CB's of Moore's level and West Ham came to mind.

Would anyone take a straight swap Liam Moore for Jordan Hugil if they offered it?

Yes I would. The value of goals at this level outweighs what Moore could prevent at the other end.

Brighton have had a £8m bid for Aston Villa defender James Chester rejected. This implies that they cannot reach an agreement with Reading on a fee for Liam Moore, and are looking elsewhere. Maybe he will be staying at RFC.

If it isn't Brighton it will be someone else. Moore is reasonably affordable and good enough to start in any of the lower half Premier League teams. Reading would be wise to tout him around as we could significantly improve our squad with the transfer money.

They could both be targets and both are in the bidding process of obtaining the player. Also could be a negotiation ploy by Brighton to say we are looking elsewhere if a fee cant be agreed soon.

interesting that bid. Talk of £10m will get him. Note he is almost 30. Would certainly think Moore should be in the same sort of price bracket

Would say it is more the case that BHA are looking to take advantage of getting a CB with PL experience from a club in turmoil on the relative cheap.

...and if Chester does go as seems quite likely, surely has big implications for Elphick coming to us. With Terry and Chester gone, doubt they will let him go as well

Depends on how screwed they are and what the terms of the loan were. It may be a "done deal" just dependant on us paying an agreed fee by a certain date.

Nah, some would still think he is not good enough for us, loses the ball and a headless chicken.

Chester cost Villa £10 million and has been a success at Villa. Brighton seem to be making a habit of going in with low bids.

"Good enough to start in any of the lower half Premier League teams"
Do you seriously believe what you have posted?
After the season he has just had I really do feel that if we get £3million for him we will have done well.
I think you may be blinkered by his previous season which, apart from being one of 2 players to cost the club £100 million plus by blasting that penalty way over the bar,he played consistently all season-last year he looked a shadow of his former self and was bullied too easily and too often by Championship strikers.

He may well get back to how he was but was he then just a top Championship defender rather than an obvious Premier League player in waiting?
Presumably Brighton think he is worth £3million as a squad and back-up player and their assessment could be about right although , with all the dosh burning holes in Premier League clubs' pockets, we may well get more than that and hopefully won't squander the money on wages for any more dead-beat geriatrics but , as others have reminded us, ours is a club that splashed out a small fortune on Aluko so the judgement of players is questionable.
