Who are the five then? Meyler, Edwards, McNulty, Baldock, McShane? Mannone?

IRjAy From Gomes via the Chronicle - 5 players who have been told to find new clubs are being made to train alone, and aren’t allowed to eat with the first-team!

That’s not the usual way to handle unwanted players unless of course they’re known for unsettling the squad...

Presuming the less than impressive Sims will have his loan cut short as well as those suggested for the chop above.

If that report of isolation is correct (and all I’ve seen in the Chronic is JG saying he is working with a smaller group) then it’s something Tommy Burns reportedly did with a few players when he arrived eg. Andy Legg and Jason Bowen, players who would have been ideal for the scrap of Division 3 and went on to prove so with other clubs.

Tim asked the manager about players going out in the post match interview and JG rightly said that at the right time the club will announce/make a statement on things.

Providing this is actually true (neither the chronic nor Jay are reliable) and depending on which players it is obviously, this is good news and a good move by Gomes.

Do you still have good contacts Gaz? Any word on which players?

It’s the right thing to do. 6 or 7 players knocking about first team training who know they are not wanted is not going to help anyone

Suspect Baldock (loan), McNulty (loan) and Mannone will find new clubs quickly. McShane will be released and paid up if he can’t find elsewhere and Meyler will be encouraged to find somewhere else ASAP. There were a few interested clubs in the summer I think

With Clement and Popa gone, it’s a good start.

I think the players are pretty clear, the big issue as already said is that a lot of the players Gomes doesn’t want are on high wages which no other club will fully take on. My understanding was that before Moore signed his new contract, Mannone was the highest paid player at the club and no club will take all his wages at this moment in time

as has Sims

All the best to Edwards, poor player, but a nice chap from the look of it. Was a pretty dreadful signing from us tbh

Sims just not good enough. Makes me a little sad that Derby got Harry Wilson, whilst we ended up with someone who was worse than our current wingers

Meyler and McShane transfer listed apparently

No doubt will be many clubs looking to snap that pairing up

Clement and Edwards have gone.

Sims is expected to have his loan cut short.

Meyler, McShane, McNulty & Mannone have all been transfer listed

https://www.readingchronicle.co.uk/spor ... ve-royals/

That will be 7 out if they all disappear

Plus Ilori if Lisbon come up with the right amount of cash.

Gomes wants to bring 4 in

We can take it he’s probably injured then.

I think Baldock can still do a job for us ... as long as he's not injured.

looks like Bordeaux are about to sign Josh Maja from Sunderland so, if the interest is still there, McNulty could be off to the north east in the next few days.

Presuming they can't get Grigg off of Wigan.

He's out injured isn't he? Hope so if it means getting rid of McNulty. They can have a few others whilst they are at it.
