RUMOUR - Brian Stock

Seems to be quite a lot of internet chatter up in Doncaster regarding their midfielder joining us very shortly.

Don't know anything about him to be honest. Where does he play?

Quote from Doncasters Official website -

A brilliant player in the centre of midfield - Stock's ability to run at players and unleash long-range shots make him a force on the pitch and a hard player to contain. The midfielder was named Players' Player of the Year at the end of the 2008-09 season.

Now that would be a good signing.

Doesn't bode well for Davies or Henry...

This would be a great signing

Will cost us a couple of million.

Hope he is over his back problems, he was out from March last season and required an op.

Plays for a team who pass it around a lot but lack the end product?

Should fit in fine then....

Past it at 28? LOL at HNA? scouts.

It wouldn't mean anything negative towards Davies or Henry. Harper is likely to be off, as is Matejovski. He sounds like the creative spark we need from midfield.

Davies is an attacking player with a good shot on him. Which is very similar to the discription of Stock above. Henry has been played in an attacking, creative central role in his starts this season.

That's what my post was based on anyway.

Would be a great addition.

Couldn't find anything on though - which "internet chatter" are you looking at?

Na, not the sort of signing clubs looking for a place in the premier league make.

Journeyman outside the Prem, not one for the future either.

Not all signings need to fit into those two categories. Sometimes you do just need a reasonably reliable player in for the short term to do a job until you find that gem of a player who'll help with the next step up.

Lloyd Owusu being a good example.
