(.)Boobies(.) This is only speculation, but we did have interest in Darren Ferguson before Brendan Rodgers took the Reading hot seat. I believe we even made an approach but were told in no uncertain terms to politely be on our way. Ferguson has today left P'boro, and with mounting speculation over Brendan Rodgers position at the club, will we reignite our interest?

Is that the same Darren Ferguson who is currently managing a team in 24th place or a different Darren Ferguson. Just why we would he be an improvement as he is no more proven at this level than Brendan Rodgers - in fact less so when you take into account BR's time at Chelsea and Watford.

Sun Tzu Can't see this as a starter even
1. No sign that Rodgers is under threat
2. SJM has never been one for knee jerk reactions
3. If Rodgers did move on I could only see us going for someone with lots of experience and a safe pair of hands. No way would we look at another relatively unproven young Turk.
4. Ferguson has a worse record AT THIS LEVEL than Rodgers, and given that he's got a team that has been built over time and with decent investment you'd have to question what that says

Absolutely nothing.
What with Peterborough having basically the same squad from League 2, and the lowest wage bill in the division. Their expectation should have been to try and finish 4th bottom. I think this is an off field issue, maybe having shown interest elsewhere he hasn't had the same impact? No idea.

biscuitman He wasn't our first choice. We only wanted to speak to Darren Ferguson, not to offer him the actual job...

runrunrunrungilksey Before the season started the RFC managers job proposed a fight for promotion, not a cost cutting excersise that is now well apparent and a main contributing factor to our current plight. I doubt he would even come near Reading!

Re(3)when Burns left didn't the club go for the inexperienced big mouth who is now at Southampton?
Re(4)the Peterboro team has been built by acquiring cheap non-league players whereas Rodgers spent £2 million on one player.
I always liked Ferguson as a player but I tend to agree that we do need an experienced man at the helm-interestingly that man (by virtue of being experienced) would have been sacked at some time by another club.
