Snowball Just remember Ian Royal scouts via radio.

I'm so bored with your on-going spat.

1st goal - good strike, possibly suspect keeping and a defence standing off and giving him time
2nd goal - woeful defending, even my gran should score that header and she's dead.
3rd goal - good strike but woeful keeping to be beaten near post like that
4th goal - quality strike.
5th goal - woeful defending, keeper like a rabbit in the headlights, but well taken
ignore the penalties
6th goal - dodgy defending diving in, not sure about the keeping but well taken goal

Halfway through and I'm bored. He can strike the ball and he's got some decent skill and control, but given the quality he's up against I don't think there's anything there so far you could say makes him look better than we have.

If we've scouted him and they think he's worth it, as I've always said great, I trust our scouts. But I don't see anything to get very excited about there. He'd almost certainly take time to adjust and break into the team. Which isn't what we need.

Reminds me a lot of Gylfi Sigurdsson with his movement and range of goals. Would be great if we could get him here on trial.

As above, got bored half-way through as most of the goals were just pedestrian defending. Two things that stood out for me - he seemed to score goals with both feet, and his goal celebrations were way over the top ...

Agreed with all of that. It looked like kids football half the time and he seemed a bit too in love with himself with some of those celebrations.

I think he looked a pretty decent player though with a lot of ability. Whether or not he could make the step up is hard to say of course, you need to see his lowlights to get a better idea.

I always thought Sigurdsson was going to be too lightweight so perhaps he's got what it takes...

He's got a great burst of pace on him. His reactions to passes where 10 times quicker than the defenders he was playing against. Would be interesting to see if he could cut it in English football, certainly could be an asset.

53 in 65 for Heerenveen and 16 in 36 for Augsburg.

Ian was right, definitely not Championship quality.

Yeah, the fact his career has developed nicely over 6 years and he's gone on to rather good things definitely means he was ready to walk straight into the Championship and improve our first team in 2010. I think Lokeren in the Belgian league (where he barely played) and Helsingborgs in the Swedish league are definitely of comparative quality to a team looking to get promoted from the Championship.

Pretty desperate stuff hauling this back after six years.

24 for Heerenveen 5 seasons ago followed by 29 the next season suggests it took him a lot less than 6 years to hit his stride in a half decent league. You've got me though, he struggling to justify his £8m transfer fee in La Liga.

Anyway, this was revived because someone mentioned another Finnbogason on another thread and I remembered we'd shown an interest in Alfred.

I was amused by your ostrich like insistance that a player can't be good enough because he isn't playing in a top league. With a signing like that, you're looking to buy and develop potential, Where would the 106 team have been without Shorey, Murty, Sonko, Kitson or Doyle?

He's been away for 6 months. Head still in sand upon his return.
