Song: An Ode To Brian

by The Rouge » 13 Mar 2013 17:28

Tongue firmly in cheek. I even tried to sound like a 45yo cowboy version of James Blunt.

i particularly like double waving hands
we'll miss your baldy head
and

I loved it.

However I am sure you will see the baldy head and the double waving hands in the future from your seat in the stands. It's just that they will be in the AWAY dugout.

With a heavy heart I support AZ's decision but remain really grateful to Brian McDermott for all of the good times, so think this song is brilliant for those references. I hope someone points BM in the direction of this.

On Wembley way
Just had all our dreams taken away
But we will not panic or curse

There's a man with a plan
He'll take us to the promised land
He cares about us

Brian Brian Brian Brian Brian
Brian Brian Brian Brian Brian McDermott
Oh we'll miss your baldy head

Oh when Anton said
That you can't come around here no more
Oh it was a sad sad day

I should have torn my season ticket up
Oh but it's a durable plastic
And it will not break and it will not cut

So I'll sit in the stand
And think of your double waving hands
And I'll think of Brian Mcdermott
Yes I'll think of Brian McDermott

We had a bad bad start
After our broken heart
But we knew we'd have our day

Up at Upton Park
We smashed those boys right in there back yard
And the Saints we marched away

Brian Brian Brian Brian Brian
Brian Brian Brian Brian Brian McDermott
Oh we miss your baldy head

Oh when Anton said
That you can't come around here no more
Oh it was a sad sad day

I should have torn my season ticket up
Oh but it's a durable plastic
And it will not break and it will not cut

So I'll sit in the stand
And think of your double waving hands
And I'll drink of Brian McDermott
Give a thought to Brian McDermott

Brian Brian Brian Brian Brian
Brian Brian Brian Brian Brian
Brian Brian Brian Brian Brian
Brian Brian Brian Brian Brian McDermott
Oh we'll miss your baldy head

Oh when Anton said
That you can't come around here no more
Oh it was a sad sad day

I should have torn my season ticket up
Oh but it's a durable plastic
Hell Yeah
And it will not break and it will not cut

So I'll sit in the stand
And dream of your double waving hands
So I'll drink to Brian, Brian McDermott
Yes I'll drink to Brian, Brian McDermott
(But safely in the concourse)
And I'll drink to Brian McDermott
Yeah (give him the Ireland job)
And I'll drink to Brian, Brian McDermott

I love you Brian

I initially thought this was a bit "too obvious" when the first chorus hit - but by the end of the song I've changed my mind. It's genius.
You're an extremely talented individual - I really like some of the other stuff you've posted on there too. So this song is going to make the third album right?

If you ever need a male backing singer locally, give me a shout!

A friend just sent it to his daughter and wife. Fingers crossed it's played to Bri. :D
