Wigan match thread sponsored by.......Lux

by LUX » 17 Feb 2015 15:00

First home game for me since Newcastle 2-2 in the Premiership.

Just seen the Wigan team bus at the University sports ground and their players training.

I'm a bit nervous tbh, we need a win here.

See you all there.

Why do all our weekday home matches start at 8.00? We always seem to be the odd one out and I don't see any difference. Wouldn't it be easier to have all the matches in the same division played at the same time instead of 15 mins apart?

I think yes in that most towns and cities have heavy traffic in the evenings, but they don't usually put a football stadium on the choke point.

Wigan are a team who are punching above their weight and have been for a long time. Their support is diabolical. However I do have time for Dave Whealan.

We have to win tonight. I'm sure how few fans they have aren't gloating and trying to pick fights like they did in 2005, and crazingly just after they'd been promoted.

I've never seen a scene like it. Promoted to the Premier League for the first time in their history and majority of them were on the train to Manchester Picadilly a minute after the final whistle.

You have time for old school racists? Are you Nigel Farage?

Chalobah at centre back. No Hector. Williams and Norwood in midfield. McCleary in for Mackie.

Hector injured I presume? Bit of a snub for Cooper, but with Norwood on the side lines makes sense.

Chalobah into defence and Norwood into midfield. Norwood's been a contender for PotS, but has been eased out in favour of Chalobah, so probably a safer bet than leaving Chalobah in midfield and bringing in Cooper for Hector as a direct swap.

Candidate for Federici's first howler of the season?

Took too many touches on a back pass after the previous one bobbled and we had to concede the corner that they score from.
