I'll be a bit dissapointed considering we've been up there for so long, and it means we'd have to do prettt oxf*rd gash for the remainder of the season, but I won't lose any sleep over it as we would get annihilated anyway, a top 10 finish still represents improvement, I think we'll be in a better place come next season to mount a more serious challenge, and the premier league is a bit shit anyway.

All that counts is the final table when all the matches have been played.

I'd be disappointed considering we've been in the top 6 all season but I wouldn't be upset or anything.

I like the idea of going the full retard, but to be honest, I haven't given much of a toss all season and I don't suppose that'll change any time soon. We need to become a more complete side, we're too one dimensional with no plan b. And not to mention oxf*rd dull to watch.

I will pretend I'm not bothered, while churning with complex emotions inside.
I will say the Premier League is just a circus anyway, it's all about money, and I prefer lots of Tuesday games anyway.
I will then paradoxically say that ours is a long-term project and we are very much a work in progress, before getting the clippers out and trimming a hedge.

I will console myself with the fact I would have saved myself 100 quid on seeing 2 matches we would have lost.

on its own, missing out on the playoffs would be annoying but wouldn't mind too much.

My fear would be if for whatever reason it set off a train of events of Tevreden/Stam moving on, takeover not happening, and starting back at square 1

Who knows. Maybe the disappointment of missing out on the play-offs would be better for the squad in the long run, and fire them up for next season.

Or something.

Ian Royal Been not bothered all season.

I don't think this is really the case is it Ian?

Expectations wouldn't have been high at the start of the season but seeing as Reading have been in the top 6 for the majority - surely fans would be a little bothered if Reading missed out now.

Such an ungrateful cloud of negativity around the club at the moment I almost feel like we don`t deserve it as fans

I agree with that, very disappointing.

I'd like to think that those who post on here are often the extreme end of opinions and a small subset, but the attendances reflect the negativity as well.

Don't quite know why really, but must be frustrating for the players etc

As if they really care what fans think.

This thread is now virtually redundant due to the fact Fulham drew last night. Football changes every week, especially in this league.

Yeh 100%. If I was Jaap I would want to move on in the summer, I would imagine some of the players probably feel the same. Half empty stadium with zero atmosphere, shocking away attendances & no stability behind the scenes. Weird feeling considering our league position

Just FYI I am fully behind Jaap & the tactical set up. Amazing progress in our first season.

Why's that? Aren't Fulham only 3 points behind and there are still 9 games to go..?

I wouldn't be angry, but definitely disappointed. We've been up there all year so to drop out near the end would be annoying, but in terms of the bigger picture I think we've had a pretty successful first season under Stam regardless of where we finish (as long as it's top half).

As others have said, I'm more worried about Stam and Tevreden moving on and the project going back to square one, although I think having tangible progress would help to keep them onside.

Erm, why? They are 3 points away with 27 points to play for. They will be in the top 6 if they win at the weekend due to the fact us and Wednesday are playing each other and they have a superior GD.

Isn't it about time the club said something publicly about the takeover situation. Can't believe people aren't threading up on this.

Agreed on this. Of course it would be disappointing to miss out on the play offs but I have a feeling that the lack of any kind of direction from the boardroom, or resolution to the supposedly ongoing takeover, is weighing on both Stam and the squad... and we will fall away towards the end of the season.
