I'm in Rugeley, Staffordshire. In two minds. Either the direct train into Euston or I'll drive to Stanmore and take the jubilee. Advantages of the latter are that there's a nice curry house in Stanmore and I'll not have a hangover (on account of driving). Advantages of the former are that I can drink what I like.

Actually that's all engineering works dependent, I'd not thought to check.

I haven't been to the new Wembley, and am open to travel advice.

Travelling with nippers so will try to be avoiding crowds, noise and fun at all costs.

Options are:

1) Drive from Braisers - park and walk in.
2) Drive from Braisers to High Wycombe - Train it in
3) Train from Braisers to Waterloo or Paddington - then underground it up.

Any advice?

What's the bank holiday Padders service like?

Last time I drove to Wycombe and took the Chiltern Line straight to Wembley but this time I fancy getting on the beers and not having to queue for fcuking hours to get back on the train

Nice. I'm thinking you must be the furthest-travelling RFC fan for the final?

If you want to avoid crowds then you should avoid the underground if you can.

I've heard the High Wycombe to Wembley train is one of the best options.

I'm getting the last ferry home on Sunday night from a football tournament in Belgium with my son. Sleep for a couple of hours when I get home from Dover then getting a minibus up to Wembley.

As for people asking about trains to Wembley from High Wycombe - I've done it a few times for England games and its not too bad but for the FA Cup semi final v Arsenal it was horrendous. Some mates were home in Reading after driving up before I even got on the train!

Cheers - do people usually park at HW train station or are there better options?

Wycombe into Wembley was brilliant but everyone's journeys are staggered.

Wembley back to Wycombe was hell - queued for hours to get onto a standing room only train.

Possibly, I thought I heard (maybe twitter) about someone heading back from Brisbane which would be further by a couple of thousand miles. I'd be happy for someone to beat me, Forbes got angry last time I did it and Mags has referred to me as a glory hunter so someone else can face that wrath.

Do something other than go straight home after the match (big retail park right next to the stadium, restaurants etc) and let the crowds go
