Oilroyal
genome He'd cost the best part of £10m if Norwich aren't completely stupid, I can't see us spending that much on one player this summer.

I agree pre our new club owner era but none of us know the new spending power of the new owners yet. As I've said on here the next 2 first team signings will give an indication of where we're at in terms of the quality of our targets and spending power.

It's going to take a bit of adjusting to spending that much before I'm comfortable with it

Can score all types of goals and looks a handful but think he has an attitude similar to Orlando Sa but certainly a good player at this level...

Some Norwich fan on Twatter reckons the bid is £8M    if true

Every time i saw him last year he looked to be a top championship striker. Please be true.

I so want this to be true but what if it turns out to be like signing Vydra on loan?

I'd trust Stam to get the best out of him!

Norwich have got a friendly today at Lowestoft. If a deal for Dolly has been agreed then he won't be playing you would think.

As others have pointed out he's done well for them and cost $5 million, unless they suddenly have money problems I can't see this happening. in a million years. What would be their motivation to sell to a rival?

It's a bit of an odd one but they have just sold a couple of other players. There are a few rumours there of money issues

Guessing there must be something behind this story - whether it's just that we have bid and that's been leaked

Still be surprised to see it go through, but it does seem we have some money to spend on the right player

Well they've just sold Howson, probably their best player, to Leeds for 5-million. Their new technical director Stuart Webber has given a candid interview to local papers here talking about a black hole in the finances following relegation, where have we heard that before? More notably though he was insistent in the interview that players who were unhappy at Carrow Road would be shipped out. That could be the case here maybe. Someone else said he had an attitude similar to Sa. I've seen quite a lot of Oliveira and that doesn't seem the case to me. Always seems up for it tbh.

Oliviera was their standout player for me last season, I'd be very surprised if they'd even answer any enquiry about him unless a) it's silly money Reading are offering or b) Norwich really are in desperate need of funds (which must be real worry for them if they're still desperate after selling Howson for £5m and only leaving the PL last year).

Just for the record one comment on the Norwich boards says it's true and that Reading bid £7m for him  but as the most reliable source I've seen says it's a load of old cobblers (currently) then I guess it probably is just that.

Hope it's true though - things may become clearer when the team sheet for Lowestoft v Norwich appears later today.

Perhaps Reading should look at Heidar Costa from Wolves next

Looks like this is a done deal:

@jonathanl50
Re Oliveira to #readingfc link from yesterday, been told it's just speculation at this stage. Nothing in it for the moment but could develop

If the fee is £8m then it's a no from me

That money could buy 3 decent championship players that we need more
