Also saying a bid for Oliveria has now been accepted.

That's an old post from beginning of July.

Ah yeah - didn't notice someone had shared it again.

Seems unless there's a drastic change from our end that Hugill is over from our side though. Nothing to see here.

Not disappointed in the slightest here - a similar mould of striker to Bod/Yann.

Bod and Yann are hardly alike though.

I would agree that Hugill seems more like Bod from what little I've seen, albeit with a better goal scoring record. Either way I'm not too fussed if we get him, I actually think he might be decent for us, but for the £8m mooted? Jog on.

With the money being paid at the moment. Reckon he'll go for a minimum of £10m.

Seems the focus is more on Nelson Oliviera. Heard a murmur today that Nelson won't be in Reading but his representatives will be today. If that means they are thrashing out a contract, god only knows.

Very possibly. Issue being, I believe, that Nelson is with the Portugal squad on international duty so if the murmur you've had come your way is indeed accurate it would suggest that Norwich have accepted a bid and therefore the players reps are with the club building a package to put to the player.

I've heard that his representatives have travelled to Reading just to shout: 'No way!' in our faces.

@reluctantnicko 6m
The Jordan Hugill affair is far from over. THREE Championship clubs still trying. Preston may yet have to accept 8 plus.

Port Vale will receive 20% of the transfer fee. Might be why PNE are holding out.

PNE are interested in Billy Bodin at Bristol Rovers. Possible replacement?

Exactly this .. Hugill has scored something like 34 goals in 129 apps since 2013 with most of those being below Championship level .. hardly a prolific scorer .. good he maybe but 8 mill ? .. seriously ??

With younger players, I think it's always better to look at their more recent records, look at Shane Long, he didn't really kick off until he got to about the same age Hugill is right now.

Not saying he's the answer as an out and out goalscorer, 12 in 44 is good, not great. That said, does he have more to his game than just scoring goals?

he;s a good player and would be a cracking signing imo. Basically a young Yann. Over priced, but then isn't everyone at the moment?

He actually scored more in the Championship than Oliveria did last year and is a year younger. He would be a very good option.

Anyone else getting the feeling that our top whack is £8m (which is plenty) and we'll probably going to miss out on all our main targets as a result.

Yep. I'm fine with that though.
