Bollox.

Big chance for Omar Richards, given that Blackett has failed to impress as a wing back. Either that, or it's back to a back four.

I'm hoping Omar Richards gets a chance.

I don't mind Blackett as a player, but just not as a wing-back. Back 3 at Leeds of Blackett-McShane-Moore and Richards/Gunter wing-backs sounds good to me.

A winger as wing back maybe? Popa or Harriott (think they are both left footed aren't they?)

But yeah Blackett is no LB and certainly no LWB

Blackett is a centre back, not a full back. But we've already got Illori covering that spot as 3rd choice, so he'd struggle to get a game. Meanwhile we don't have enough cover at full back - if Gunter gets injured (hurrah - I hear the drongos on Hob Nob, cheer) we'll really be in the shit.

If on the incredibly unlikely event of Gunter getting injured, I think McCleary would make a good RWB. Obv have to go 3/5 at the back though

Quite. Running a mile (usually in reverse) from most forms of physical contact does tend to keep injuries at bay.

Stam at least would seem to agree and Richards actually got on the pitch v Norwich. He is highly rated apparently so guess Omar's got a real opportunity this season.

I thought Richards did quite well when he came on against Norwich. Put in one humdinger of a tackle.

Terrible news that puts everything on a downer prior to a big game this Saturday.

Can we start the season again please?

It is terrible news for him personally and the club, but I guess the nature of the injury was pretty much known to the club immediately (i.e. 3 weeks ago)

The good news is the Op went well

The emergency loan system is no longer an option. FIFA decided to do away with it. Have to wait until January to get a replacement (loan or permanent) now.

Hound
HeinzGuderian To be honest he's shit anyway bit far better than Blackett.

Another Jaap masterstroke leaving us week at left back.

Don't think you can blame Stam for that one. We have 2 left backs (Obita, Richards) and Blackett to cover. He is also far from sh!t

I didn't see the injury happen fully at the time - did he hit the boards due to the slope on the pitch? Be interesting as someone said on here that the groundsman had messed up and not dug deep enough when relaying the pitch, hence why it is raised this year, and slopes to the boards

Could be some seriously peed off people if that is the case

From what I remember of watching the highlights he was pushed off the ball by a Hull player and landed off the side of the pitch. I hope that the Hull player will at least apologize to Jordon, (if he hasn't already), the club and our fans

EDIT. Just watched the highlights on the club website again, Hull's number 34 pushed Jordon over who then fell onto the grass surrounding the pitch.

Big blow this. Could be a chance for Stephen Quinn to come back into the fold though. He's played LB/LWB for both Hull and Sheffield Utd as well as briefly for us under Brian McD.
