Tommio We need 22 points from 20 games to stay up roughly, what makes you think that we need to win nearly half our games?

Blackburn went down with 51 points last season and the bottom 3 sides seem to be picking up points all over the place. As I said winning nearly 10 games(or equivalent), is what will keep us up securely without any final day hassle...

Yet the year before, Charlton went down with 40 points?

Those 3 teams that went down were by far the worst teams in the championship, Rotherham would’ve been on par had they not turned into Barcelona. This year it’s a lot more competitive

Peterborough hold the record of being relegated from division 2 football with the most points, 54, in 2013.

It is rare for relegation to be "achieved" with more than 50 points. Before last season the average points achieved by the club finishing 22nd over the previous 15 years was just under 46 while for the club finishing 21st it was just over 49. With this in mind I would say 8 wins worth of points should be sufficient (would take Reading to 52 points) but this will obviously become clearer as things develop

Let's hope 3 of the clubs below us start falling apart quickly.

Whatever happens Chris Martin added to the ranks should certainly help the cause - so long as Stam doesn't do to him what he did to Grabban last season.

I well remember we were relegated back to the basement division in 1982/3 on 53 points  Our playing record was won 12, drew 17, lost 17 which really wasn’t that bad.

Kerry Dixon left the club thereafter

Norwich should be walking this league considering how much their players seem to be worth!

Anyway, not sure they’ll sell. If they do to Derby then Martin will definitely be on his way

Is it the same source that said Reading bid £9m for him only for the Reading end to say it's not true.

Unused sub today vs Brum. Winnall started with Vydra, Weimann and Nugent came off the bench.

Looks like Martin is at the bottom of the pecking order (well, except Nick Blackman...)

Blackman is on loan in Israel so Martin would look to be bottom of what's left

Recurring theme with us , talented players coming here and not providing the goods. if he played in the 2006 team he would have got 30 goals .
Our fans gave him a hard time but you don't turn into a bad player over night.

I imagine that happens to loads of clubs, not just us.

How many great RFC players have moved on only to be shit elsewhere?

They didn’t really. He tried hard but just had a rotten season. Some of the chances he missed were horrendous

Considering the cost of the loan we all expected better. There was clearly a good player there, but his confidence was totally shot

He was pretty useless last year as well tbf. Wasn’t that he magically became great again the minute he left us

Its swings and roundabouts tbh. Vydra just needed the right manager, Rowett is getting the best out of him with the style of play. Our management at the time seemed to suck the life out of everyone when he was here.
Some players have moved on and played a level above than we expected they could through the right development - Antonio
Most of the 106 team when moved on didn't really set the footballing world alight.

The more I have thought about this the more pleased I am. We just need someone to come in and give everyone a lift regardless of if they have played much football or not. He's not the greatest and his last loan wasn't great but I don't think we can be fussy at the moment.

thats barely news to be honest, just some bookie odds. I'm a little disappointed if there is an opportunity here we haven't got it settled by now. We could do with that lift asap

Hilarious isn't it. I quite like Martin. He's been a good champ level striker for a while now.

With the right service, most strikers look good tbf. Looking at the figures we are already operating a 20% loss so to increase the wage bill by a further £30-40k a week is unlikely imo
