Hadn't appreciated that another of our former players was in management ...

Will forever love Lee Hodges for those two goals against Oxford away. Still my all time favourite game ever.

Remember his winner away at Northampton in 1998.

A game also notable for the half time fans competition to win a Vauxhall Nova by kicking a football into its boot.

Was that the game where he changed his name to Grant Brebner?

PS I was at that game as well. Seem to remember the half time kicking competition being a bit of a shambles with people falling over whenever they tried to kick the ball

I'm sure Hodges scored . We were behind the goal and I'm remember seeing his gurning face and being surprised hat he'd managed to get such a good sun tan from living in Berkshire.

In my family he was known as Persil......because his kit was always clean, even despite the Elm Park winter mudbath, Mad Stad sand pit.....

No, it was Brebner. Hodges only appearance for us that season was one, from the bench and unsurprisingly he didn't score.
