AthleticoSpizz Check out Youtubes Reading 3 Wolves 0 (30/04/1996)

A face in that crowd, one of my most favourite goals ever.

“You’ve not seen nothing like Jimmy Quinn”

Absolute stunner. Remember it clearly to this day.

Always preferred "He's got no hair but we don't care, Jimmy Quinn" myself.

Mine too.

Kitson > everyone else.

The generation above me will no doubt mention Quinn. Unfortunately I never saw him play

Quinn was amazing. Lacked some pace but supreme in the air and a very intelligent, experienced striker when he came to us. He scored 35 League goals for us in our promotion season. Legend.

Favourite game was when Simon Shepherd had to go off injured and Quinn went in goal kept a clean sheet and volleyed every save.

About that time. Boris the wig was ‘injured’ a lot if I remember rightly.

I know that Quinnie had to stand in for him at least once

Jimmy Quinn...what an understated/under mentioned star he was for us....still holds hero status for me.

I think he is held in very high regard by a lot of us. Hard to believe but he turns 60 this year.
One thing that disappoints me with our fans is how little applause our ex players get when they come on at half time to do the golden gamble stuff. Really poor.

Next 3 games, Forest, Derby and Villa, if we are still in touch after that little lot we should name a stand after him.

Quinn went in goal against Bolton... first game after PO final? at home. We won 3-2. Quinn was only beaten in his corners coz he just couldn't get down to them, but made some decent saves otherwise.

JQ is always spoken about in legendary terms by both my uncles and my dad.

I got this image printed on a canvas for my uncle for his birthday once and it just makes me wish I had seen him play.

Thanks Hendo, enjoyed that. Was interesting seeing the photos, and some of the posters who don't post much anymore. Brought back some fond memories.

Possibly my favourite Reading photo that. Love anything from that era though, when I fell in love with football.

Yep same for me. I'd been watching for about four seasons at that point but from when the Mad man took over and then McGee followed things slowly started to fall into place. The promotion season was amazing! A team full of legends in my eyes. Shakka, Darius, Adie, Jimmy, Mick, Super-Si, Gilksey to name but a few.

This will always be one of my greatest times as a Reading fan!
